Deputy Sheriff Tyler Peterson Shoots Six Dead In Wisconsin
By: Lucy | October 8, 2007
A young deputy sheriff has shot his ex-sweetheart, two childhood friends and three other youths dead at a party in Wisconsin before being shot dead by police. Tyler Peterson, 20, was reportedly normal when he was out with the group on Saturday night but by Sunday afternoon he had been killed by a police sniper after he apparently murdered 6 people.
Reports have claimed that he had chatted with friends in a parking lot about hunting and what was going on at the local school’s homecoming weekend. He said he was going home at 8.30pm but by sometime before 3.00am, Peterson burst into his ex-girlfriends house and opened fire, killing her and five others. One of the fatalities was a young girl aged only 14.
The town near the Canadian border was then “locked down” while police carried out a manhunt for the deputy sheriff which didn’t end until Sunday afternoon. There has been no official word as to why this tragedy happened.
The killings come just six months after the worst school massacre in US history, when a deranged student shot 30 people dead in a classroom building at Virginia Tech University.
