The parents of an 11-year-old boy, who was involved in a high speed police chase, have been accused of letting him drive for months. Louisiana Police said they attempted to stop the SUV being driven by the child after a police patrol car recorded it travelling at 80mph in a 60mph zone.
The boy accelerated after the police turned on their sirens and lights in a high speed pursuit that saw the 11-year-old passing several other vehicles on the hard shoulder and force many others off the road.
The boy finally turned off the interstate, driving to a Burger King restaurant where his mother Leona Calloway worked. It was reported that the boy was driving home from a hospital after dropping his disabled father for to an appointment.
Authorities claimed the boy had been driving around for six months. His parents, Calloway, 32 and Brown 46, were charged with improper supervision of a minor and allowing an unlicensed minor to drive.
