Will Prime Minister Gordon Brown call an early general election?

A poll that was carried out just a week ago showed that Labour was ahead by eight points, well that has all but disappeared now, a new poll suggests that Labour has a seven point slump.
It is thought that David Cameron gave such a good speech at the recent Conservative party conference that this has helped both Labour and the Conservative’s being very close to each other now in the polls.
So the question is, does Gordon Brown still call a general election, or should he wait a while to try and fight back a bit at the polls?
