Lewis Hamilton To Be Questioned By F1 Bosses

Today Lewis Hamilton will find out whether he is to be demoted on the grid for the Chinese Grand Prix on Sunday, or even worse, lose his ten points for winning in Fuji last weekend, over claims that he drove erratically behind the safety car in Japan.

The FIA has been looking into “new video evidence” provided by a Japanese fan in the grandstand. Initially, it was thought that rookie Vettel caused the collision, suffereing a 10-place penalty on the starting grid for Sunday’s race in China.

Hamilton won the race in Japan, giving him a 12 point lead over McLaren teammate Fernando Alonso. If found as the cause of the crash, it could severely damage Hamilton’s chances of becoming the first rookie to win the championship as F1 bosses fear the FIA may erase Hamilton’s points from the Japanese race.

Drivers Webber and Vettel have both criticised Hamilton over the collision because ‘he decelerated and pulled wide’.
