Sony Europe deny 12th October Big Bang announcement for cheap PS3

Sony Europe has now official denied that they will have a Big Bang announcement on the 12th October about a cheap PS3. They deny that there will be a lower priced Sony Playstation 3 40GB model, and they also deny that there was ever going to be a Big Bang announcement.
What this means is that for all of you who was hoping to pick up a 40GB PS3 for only $399, this will not now happen. But still do not give up hope with Christmas just around the corner Sony will be stupid not to give us a price cut somewhere.
