A Russian-made cargo plane has crashed in a residential neighbourhood of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s capital, Kinshasa, airport officials have said, killing six crew and four Congolese passengers. There are no figures yet of how many people have been injured or kill on the ground, but could be in the hundreds if not thousands.
It is too early to say why the plane crashed. The search for the black box is underway so they can try and work out why the plane crashed soon after the plane took off.
One witness said the aircraft came down on houses near Ndili international airport
He said he did not yet know if there were any deaths, or how many people were aboard the plane, or whether it was carrying cargo, passengers or both.
