Although Damien Hirst’s $100 million diamond skull was in some ways beautiful, it was definitely too pricey for us mere mortals. If you like the thought of a decorative skull but aren’t prepared to pay crazy money, then you may want to check out the “Memento Mori” silver skull by Douglas Little for dl & co.
This silver skull is an unusual piece of Gothic art. It can be used as a paperweight, card holder or simply as a decoration piece. ‘Memento Mori’ is a Latin phrase that means ‘remember that you are mortal’. The phrase was quite famous back in the 15th century and became synonymous with the phrase ‘Carpe Diem’. The ‘Memento Mori’ skull comes in at $300 - pennies compared to Damien Hirst’s creation!
