President George Bush heading for showdown with congress over Veto
It seems that President George Bush could be heading for a showdown with congress as he has vetoed a bill that could have expanded the government-run health insurance program for children, which was a popular bill with congress as they have supported the bill.

Congress that is controlled by the Democratic Party had approved the program for expansion and wanted to spend $35 million over the next five years, but President Bush said the State Children’s Health Insurance Program bill was both irresponsible and would dramatically expand the program far beyond what it was original intended to be.

The new bill would have been able to provide health cover for over 10 million children whose family is on a low-income so are not able to afford private health insurance.
