Panasonic maker Matsushita has said that they are to launch a new line of Blu-ray optical disc recorders, and will hopefully be released by November. Both Matsushita and Sony both back the technology that is Blu-ray, so it was only a matter of time before Matsushita decided to develop a Blu-ray recorder.
Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd is the largest consumer electronics maker in the world, and they aim to become the first company to offer a DVD recorder that can store full high-definition programs on a standard DVD disc. These new Blu-ray recorders will be able to record up to 18 hours of programs in full HD on a dual-layer disc.
Matsushita are to launch three models of these recorders next month.
