Teen Found Guilty Of Shooting Little Sister

A teenager has admitted to shooting his 12-year-old sister dead with a gun kept illegally by their mother. Kamilah Peniston was hit in the forehead by a bullet from a .38 snub-nosed revolver which had been buried in the back garden of the family.
Kasha Peniston was aged 16 at the time of the shooting has been charged with murder but pleased guilty to an alternative count of manslaughter at Manchester Crown Court.
After the shooting, Peniston panicked and dashed from the house screaming “Call an ambulance!” A distressed Kasha, crying and covered in her blood, cradled the “struggling” girl on the pavement in Gorton, Manchester.
Neighbours ran to the aid of the girl, whose mother was away in London attending a funeral. Kamilah died in hospital the morning after the accident which occurred at 7.20pm on April 30.
Neighbours described Kamilah as a little brain box as she would go straight to the local library each day after school to complete her homework.
Kamilah’s mother, Natasha, 33, had previously pleaded guilty to possession of the gun and ammunition. She will be sentenced with her son at a later date.
