Madeleine McCann’s father Gerry McCann branded negligent
Gerry McCann, the father of missing child Madeleine McCann has been branded negligent, this comes after claims that Madeleine’s abductor had been hiding in their apartment. Gerry has said that he thinks that someone was hiding in his daughter’s room when he went in to check on her on May 3rd. A senior officer for the Portuguese police has said that this claim is ridiculous.

Portugal’s police federation has said that since the disappearance of young Madeleine, parents Gerry and Kate have announced new facts on a daily basis. The police have said that when they were interviewed four months ago, then they should have told them all the facts then.

Police have said that if Gerry was suspicious that there was a man hiding in his daughter’s bedroom, then why did he and his wife then go to dinner leaving the children on their own, if this is the case then he is negligent he is as a father.

Mr. McCann said he felt suspcious “in retrospect”. Even so, why did he not once mention this to the police until named a suspect? The McCann’s reaction to being investigated is appalling. They have marshalled resources that have influenced the British press, and now, it seems, the British police, to divert the investigation away from themselves.

We British seemed cursed with hysterical reactions. i.e. Weapons of mass destruction? Where? Still looking are they? Madeleine a victim of a terrible crime? So there is no possibility of an infant wandering off, as far as the sea, getting into difficulties, and losing her life, is the most likely explanation?

Oh no, nothing so un-news worthy. It is clearly a terrible crime, at least an abduction, and possibly a paedophile international predatory gang praying on children world wide. How many mothers of young children sleep well at night?

Another more likely theory - is it not possible that a simple explanation is the most likely,,, of an unattended infant venturing out, wandering off, getting lost, panicking, arriving at the inviting ocean, only to fall victim, as so many have, to its casual power. i.e. a cooling paddle and drink, venturing out a little too far, a slip, a flounder, and a tiny figure gently drifted away, leaving no evidence or trace. The sea has taken many a life with no evidence, or trace, and the very lack of any real evidence seems to be, in itself, evidence for the sea.

The DNA evidence never ever includes an error margin for the testing. But there must be one, and how close would Mrs McCann’s blood DNA be to her daughter’s? They seem very alike. The accuracy for DNA testing has been mentioned in the media as one in millions. But there are billions of humans. So why is it considered to be proof, rather than evidence of a possibility

Wini, thank you for saying what I have been thinking since I first read of this tragic event. It is so likely that a nearly 4-year-old child would wake up, perhaps look for Mommy and Daddy, find her way out of the apartment and maybe find her way to the beach where she undoubtedly had gone to have fun in the days before. Personally, that seems more likely than someone taking her.

When my granddaughters (then 4 and 6) stayed in my room while their parents and I were on vacation in Maui, I moved a piece of furniture against the door that was too heavy for them to move just in case they woke up during the night and I didn’t. I just would not risk them wandering out. There was a pool at the resort and the ocean beach was just a couple hundred feet away, much like the situation in Portugal, and who knows who could be walking by on the street. It was a family resort and safe; however, those two little girls are too precious to risk that one unexpected event. There is enough inside a room to get them into trouble, let’s not go outside as well!

If people were truthful about their own children, more have wandered off than have ever been kidnapped. It’s just that most of those who wander are found or return on their own so it never makes it into stats, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen.

Something that has been reported repeatedly is that there is a 100% match to her DNA - how do they know that with her not available for a unquestionable sample? That bit of info has escaped anything I have read. And the PJ keep coming up with these absurd stories; they lost all credibility with me (if they had any) when the pet crematorium was investigated. First the child was sedated, then she was supposed to have fallen down the stairs, now the father made advance arrangements for disposal, makes one wonder what the next story will be.

Of course the comments about the parents’ lack of emotion really burn me. Having lost a child myself, I know there is no one way that everyone grieves and what is considered calm may not be at all, shock in such situations doesn’t follow rules. Who are they to judge how much pain a mother is enduring?!!

Each child taken from their parents, by design or by accident, is a tragedy for us all. This case has gotten massive attention, but there are so many others that also need our positive thoughts and prayers as well as being vigilent in our daily lives for all the children.

Obviously *both* parents were negligent that night; not only Madeleine’s father. I can understand that feeling of ’sensing’ something odd, as he did; and yet not knowing what to make of it at the time. Then, later, after a bad thing happens, one has the inferences of hindsight. That, to me, seems innocent enough.

I feel terribly sorry for these parents, and most of all, for Madeleine.

I agree that the McCanns are not cooperative with the Police. Indeed, they seem to behave as if they think they are above reproach, and they are angered at being questioned.

If it were me, and I had lost my daughter due to my not being there to care for her at age 3/almost 4; you can bet that I would be way more than anxious to share with the Police every single thing I thought, said and did on that day. A team of horses could not stop me. I also would not go to visit America or the Pope. I would stay in the Algarve, personally looking for her day & night, through my tears and terrors.

Although the McCanns seem innocent, I sense something really stinks with this case. And I am sorry to say that I believe it is them. I do not have the answers here, but I do believe there is something really wrong with these people.

Unfortunately, I do not believe Madeleine is still alive. I do not think she wandered out to sea and was swept away. I wish I could believe that. Her being gone with no trace for so long indicates the worst to me.

The above suggestions are very likely, though they have found enough evidence to suggest otherwise. This man is negligent, and he obviously doesn’t care as much as he tells us. This is an important fact! Why is it these people suddenly know everything now that they’re suspected?
