Tenori-On the new digital musical device launched: Is this technology?

There is a brand new digital musical device that has just been launched by the name of Tenori-On, Tenori-On is an instrument that has the collaboration between Yamaha and Toshio Iwai who is a Media Artist. This new instrument took 5 years to develop and of which Mr Iwai says that it is the new digital musical instrument for the 21st century.

Basically the Tenori-On is a simple square pad that has 16×16 LED switches; each switch once pressed will create a single sound of which then can be built upon by pressing different switches which in returns gives you different sounds.

When you press the switches not only will you get sound but you will also see the switches light up once pressed, this is giving you light and sound all at once which I personally think will be great for kids.
