Thousands Pay Tribute To Colin McRae At Celebration Of Life Service

Today was the day of the celebration of life service of Scottish rally star Colin McRae. More than twenty thousand fans turned up to pay their respect.
Colin McRae, Johnny his five-year-old son and family friends Ben Porcelli, six, and Graeme Duncan, 37, also died in the crash. The four tragically when McRae’s helicopter crashed near his family home in Lanark, Scotland.
Fans from around the globe gathered early to pay their respects along with famous names from the motoring world including F1 hero Damon Hill and Nicky Grist. McRae’s friends and family gathered at St Nicholas Church in Lanark High Street for the celebration of life service.
Racing mogul Dave Richards, who first signed Colin when he was 21, paid tribute to Mr McRae’s ‘spirit’ as well as his ‘flamboyant and aggressive’ driving style,
“He stood above the rest,”
Footage of Mr McRae and tributes from figures in the rallying world were played to the crowed, many wearing the light blue of Subaru.
Colin McRae and his son were cremated together in a single coffin last week.
