Adrien Brody, Paul McGillon and Mike Vogel

Another week, another Star Trek casing rumour. This week, there are quite a few casting rumours circulating for the JJ Abrams remake, some of which I’m very impressed with!

ISEB has learned that Mike Vogel (Poseidon, Cloverfield) is the frontrunner to play the legendary James T Kirk. It has also been reported that former Stargate Atlantis star Paul McGillion has auditioned for the role of Scotty and Adrien Brody confirmed he had spoken to JJ Abrams about playing Spock but didn’t get the part.

As I said, I’m impressed with the names above, but I would’ve thought that bigger stars would’ve been cast, especially with the recent rumours of Matt Damon (swoon) as Kirk!

Who would be your ideal cast for Star Trek?

I like the idea of James Doohan’s son, Chris being the next Scotty, but McGillion takes a close second.
