Read Clearly: Talking Multiplayer, Sony PS3’s Warhawk better than Xbox 360’s Halo 3

I am finding this really hard to believe that people are not reading clearly the topic, as in my last post about the multiplayer maps on Warhawk vs Halo 3.
Gamers just always want to go back to the Sony PS3 vs the Xbox 360, move on people as we are talking “Multiplayer Gameplay”, by that I am talking 10, 20 and 30 people.
Let’s see if this time gamers cannot mention the word “Campaign”, why would I say that…well as:
1) Warhawk has no Campaign, its only Multiplayer.
2) We are talking Multiplayer, which Halo 3 and Warhawk have.
Yes I agree Halo 3 is fantastic at its campaign and co-op campaigns, I personally played the co-op campaign for over 4 hours yesterday with a friend 100 miles away and it was brilliant.
I just cannot believe why the comments of gamers keep jumping back to campaign or Xbox 360 vs Sony PS3, when what we are talking about is the massive multiplayer in Halo 3 and Warhawk not the campaigns.
Surely you can agree if you have played the massive multiplayer games on Halo and Warhawk, that Warhawk’s is by far superior in gameplay.
Well that’s my opinion, but feel free to voice your opinion on THE MULTIPLAYER side of the games.
I am not saying Warhawk is better overall; I am trying to explain how the multiplayer element in Warhawk is second to none.
In Short:
Halo 3: best co-op campaign and single player campaigns I have played in a while
Warhawk: best multiplayer game I have ever played

I strongly disagree. Halo 3 has much better online. Brilliant matchmaking and a good level system to create fair games makes getting into an appropriate match easy. Then there is the game itself. Halo 3 has proven to be even much better than Halo 2 in its multiplayer. And more time has been spent by people playing Halo 2 online than time has been spent playing all Playstation games online together (and I am not just talking PS3). I think Halo 3’s biggest problem is it will negatively affect software sales, as I need almost no other games to supplement my Halo 3 for a long time. Assassin’s Creed, GTA IV, and Fable 2 are ones I plan to get in the next year, but I do not know how I will even find time for that small amount of games between living my life and playing Halo 3.
You will never get the Halo3 loving crowd to admit that anything could be better than Halo3, it’s in their Microsoft programming. MUST LOVE HALO, MUST KILL PS3 ON EVERY FORUM, MUST LOVE HALO, MUST SPEND MORE MICROSOFT MONEY…
Halo 3 graphics are good, Halo 3 matchmaking and ways to create fair games is good, but Halo 3 multiplayer cannot compare to Warhawks 32 players playing to the highest heights and big maps.
Top that of with the gameplay, its just amazing.
Halo 3 would win for me if the maps were much bigger and you could go to many more places while in a 30 player match.
Why even have this discussion. Warhawk SHOULD have better multiplayer, because that’s all it has–and they’re charging $60 for that game and a bad headset. In my mind, the two games don’t even compare. Halo 3 all the way.
This is silly. Most gamers have either Xbox 360 or PS3 but not both, so few gamers have both consoles and are able to play both Halo 3 and Warhawk and properly compare them.
Also, Halo 3 has just come out, so Halo players are too busy playing Halo 3 right now to comment here.
To be fare to Halo you have to remember that some time had to be spent on the campaign so the developer couldn’t put all there efforts into the multiplayer. Multiplayer is the only existence that Warhawk has and thats why its better than Halo in that category of game play.
The only thing i can say is that they’re not the same type of online game. I believe both are very good - BUT - if you say that Warhawk is the best online game you’ve ever played, that can only mean that you’ve not played the Battlefield series !!!
I have a PS3 and my roommate has a PS3 and 2 360’s with two copies of Halo 3. I have played both Warhawk and Halo 3 A LOT. Let me tell you that Warhawk is better multiplayer. Halo 3 is extremely fun but Warhawk is more fun and more to do in my opinion.
It’s easier to get onto a match with Halo but they are fixing that with Warhawk. So I would give Warhawk the edge over Halo 3 since its more fun.
warhawk multiplayer is much better.it is more fun to play and u have a huge enviroment to batle.u can fly in the warhawk in open sky as far as u want.halo is a small map hyped game.

It’s simple, sales are in no was tied to the quality of the game. Halo 3 proves this. It’s a lousy looking game, with serious issues with jaggelies, framerate problems, and it’s not even HD! yet 1.5 million fools went out and bought it on release night.

I cant wait for Sony Home..I get to dress my Ken doll and jump into the Barbie camper and go to the mall..or maybe I will be a young girl and let dirty old men look up my skirt..Nothing says next gen like Sony. Warhawk does not sell more because there aren’t very many PS3 owners to sell them to… Wish I knew someone w/a PS3 so I could try it! (Everyone I know is playing halo).

Personally I agree with SniperZoz. Battlefield 2 on the PC is imo the best online game ever but Warhawk is a close second. Halo multi player has never really cut it for me.
lol … Warhawk is not outselling Halo 3 because, the majority of xbox gamers are 12 years old, and buy into the hype, if Sony was worried about 12 year olds, they’d have put warhawk ads on NYC buses too … true gamers don’t need to be pointed towards greatness … the masses will find thier own way even if it takes longer…

Well lets see, I am 47 and all my software developer peers (all well above 12) are playing halo (probably even as i write this). Maybe your tag should be “bitterpsboy”.
I do agree the hype was way out there, but no worse than any blockbuster movie (and YES halo is a blockbuster game while warhawk is not). But this is a good thing for all of us because it is bringing serious gaming to the fore-front - which means even bigger/better games in the future for all fanboys (and norms) regardless of allegience.
Too bad Warhawk will never be ported to xbox - it would probably REALLY shine on a decent online platform…

ps3 online is free and uses dedicatded sevvers, instead of laggy P2P servers.plus warhawk is good, not simply overrated. plus, sony dont cut corners,like saying a game doe 720p, when it actually just does 620 or sumthing. oh and there is also a large amount of complaints from users about their halo 3 discs getting scratched. all microsoft do is make everything that little bit cheaper, and less quality

I heard the same crap about Warhawk as i did resistince. bottom line is the online portion of the ps3 doesnt impress me nor does it many ps3 players don’t believe me? go check the PS3 forums they are not jumping up and down claiming they got the bomb lol. 1. ps has crappy small controllers with no rumble sixaxis sucks, NO dl content No orginality with gamertags, No Friends list. Am i going to get a ps3 ? YES but not for the FPS sorry they can only grab my attention with Jrpg’s. Warhawk doesn’t sell as much because it’s multiplayer only game. It caters to the audience that will go online to play it. My roommate and I both own warhawk but a buddy of mine likes warhawk but can’t buy it since he doesn’t have a broadband connection yet. Some people are turned off by a game that is online only no matter how good it is because maybe they can’t get online, some people don’t like to play with others who are far better than them, etc. . If halo 3 was online only it wouldn’t sell as much either just like Shadowrun.
I sense the tides of this thread might be changing to 360 vs PS3 soon. What a shame

Well, with all due respect, this is quite a silly article.
From a technical standpoint, the implementation of Halo 3 online I feel is vastly superior to Warhawk. Just the sheer number of options, invites on/off etc etc blah blah.
But yeah, you can get a larger amount online in warhawk. And you sure can do some crazy stuff. But what I dont understand is, is that they are diffrent types of games !! I just dont get how one can say this IS better than the other. To each his own, but this just leads to silly arguments.
Just a note as well - Halo 3 is in HD. Dont be silly and state otherwise.
And comments about the age of Xboxers?? The demographics have shown that a majority are infact in the 21 to 35 age group. This is one reason the original Xbox was slammed. It had very little family content… for the kiddies if you will. Now, I dont mean to be rude, or start fights, but it is the Playstation brand that brings on the youngies…
I dont want to say “hardcore” gamers… I think all that is BS … but you see where Im going, no?

Yep was talking about how Warhawk will not dethrone halo3 sheer numbers will hurt Warhawk same thing that happened to most of the ps3 games. shoddy online play. does Warhawk allow a map editor, does it allow for you to actually host a game in private and does it allow of a ranking system or leaderboard where others can see it. how about the matchmaking how does it stack up? These things have been addressed years ago by Xbox live but the problem with the ps3 is that they said the future is not online gaming, i have to agree they have no future online. You get what you pay for.
I gotta play this warhawk to really give a true opinion. But reading the above comments I do see a bit of stupidity with the comparison. So I read a bit on warhawk and what I have gathered is that it only has 5 Maps and you want to make a comparison. so what if it has 30 players at one time you act like your going to kill all 30 at once. Is there even respawing in this game someone tell me because if it doesn’t I would hate to wait for 30 people to die. Reminds me of tom clancy vegas game where I fell asleep waiting for the game to finish. Also the graphics look better on Halo 3 then they do in warhawk according to product review. And the idiot that said the game is not in HD get a life. What does 1080P mean moron. Most Sony games are 720P what a joke.

I think but are great.I have Warhawk and i love it!Sure there are problems and not alot of stuff.Incognito is releasing content that is FREE or $2.50 or less.They are very hard at work with problems and it will evolve into a great game to play.I just got to say{Banshiees suck and warhawks/nemisis are SUPER cool you can use the sixaxis or have the dualshock 3{look it up} and charles do you think that the 360 been out for 2 YEARS!!! the PS3 10 months it has ALOT of time to grow and ever herd of The eye of judement all your card playing dreams

I love them both - I’m one of the rare gamers who owns both systems. Personally I think Halo3 does a better job getting a game up and running quickly and matching me up with people around my skill level. Warhawk matches seem a little less even than Halo3 matches do, although both do a reasonably good job (at least on the Sony ranked servers - the individual Warhawk servers out there are generally crap).
I also have to say that although the Warhawk controls are good, the Halo3 controls are PERFECT. I can’t say for sure if it’s just the SixAxis vs. 360 Controller or if it’s just the amazing coding of Bungie, but I do still have to think about the controls in Warhawk while in H3 it’s completely intuitive to me (could also be the countless H2 games I played
i hope you know that you can change the controls to your PERFECT likeing in Warhawk i did and flying the plane with the SixAxis is SOOOOOOOO fun!
Charles, the game is 32 player, 1 map is bigger than all 15 H3 maps. each map has more variety them all H3 maps. get your facts straight, you cant compare one of our maps to one of yours. Warhawk is beyond H3

Dude, have you played Warhawk? Why do you hungrily scrounge for reasons to bash it? There are only four modes, but the game is frantic 100% of the time, the maps are huge, and the graphics are excellent! Play it, why don’t ya? You’ll be eating your words, i guarantee it.
I own a PS3 and an Xbox 360 and also happen to own Warhawk and Halo 3. Graphics are better on H3. Everything in Halo 3 is way more balanced; from the map layouts, weapons, vehicles, etc. In Warhawk, there are just too many balance issues. For example it is nearly impossible to kill infantry units and jeeps with the warhawks (planes). There just isn’t any splash damage in this game. While it is cool to have 32 players this almost creates complete chaos in these huge maps. Games are usually won in Warhawk by 1 or 2 players on each team that actually go after objectives while everyone just wonders around aimlessly doing nothing productive. The maps in Warhawk are pretty much all the same to me. Huge, one linear path through the middle of the map for the vehicles to follow, anti-aircraft guns on each territory…..not that much creativity (and I am not counting the one map that is all planes…wooot!).
This is why I think Halo 3 is better online:
gameplay and controls are better.
1) Party system - you can hook up with your friends or recent players and continue to play in the same room together automatically for the rest of the night.
2) Ranked/Social Games - Halo keeps track of tons of stats whether it be medals, armor, class, kills, assists, melee kills, weapons, awards, etc., and it uses these stats to come up with your experience and rank. This rank is then paired up with other parties/players to create a very strategic and fair game.
3) Coop Campaign - you can play up to 4 players cooperatively online through the campaign at a time!
4) Pretty much everyone has a mic, whereas pretty much no one on Warhawk has one - this creates a very intense and strategic experience.
5) Xbox Live - Not only is the service great but during Halo 3’s first day 1 million gamers where online playing. With Xbox live you can view and invite your friends from other games to join your party. Also, that many gamers means that you can find a competitive game any time of the day!
6) You can record your game sessions, save clips or the whole thing, save them in your theatre, or share them with friends.
7) graphics are better.
9) all balance issues are pretty well ironed out.
10) and so on.
I am not saying that Warhawk sucks, but the fact that it is online only and doesn’t offer anything new to the genre is pretty weak. Sure it supports up to 32 players and rarely has terrible lag, it really doesn’t offer anything new. You log on, join a random server and select a game to enter. I mean an online only game that only has a few game modes? Halo 3 has infinite game modes thanks to the modifiers and map editing. I mean if you actually sit down and play both games, don’t just be a blind fanboy for MS or Sony (both companies could give a poo about you), there really is no comparison. Halo 3 owns Warhawk online and offline.
This website is the hands down, most pathetic, most desperate PS3 supporter I’ve ever seen. PS3 owners have no dignity, doing everything they possibly can to reap off of Microsoft’s success. Now they’re going to try to put themselves in the map by try to create a comparison between Halo 3 and Warcawk. ONE MILLION GAMERS PLAYED HALO 3 ONLINE IN 20 HOURS. It’ll take at least 10 years for Warcawk to ever reach that. Wake up. Buy an Xbox 360, sell you PS3 to the next sucker.

1) It’s easy to have one million gamers online when you offer Gold free for 48 hours with any Halo 3 purchase. It’s time a cool number to throw around though. Xbox Live is also crashing a lot due to these sheer numbers but hopefully they will get that fixed.
2)Warhawk does track medals, ranks, allows for clans(Halo 3 doesn’t). private sessions, leaderboards. Listing things that Halo 3 has that Warhawk doesn’t can just lead to a list of things Warhawk has that Halo 3 doesn’t.
3) Halo 3 doesn’t offer anything new to the FPS genre either. Get over it. Both games are fun. I think a lot of people are getting upset because maybe Warhawk is more fun that Halo 3 online. Some will like Warhawk more than Halo 3. I like warhawk more than Halo 3 because to me Halo 3 is Halo 2 more of the same and warhawk is a little bit different but both are still FUN.
4)stop comparing Halo 3’s campaign to Warhawk. Overall Halo 3 is a better game than Warhawk since Warhawk is lacking a single player mode.
5)If you haven’t played Warhawk or Halo 3 online I don’t see how your comments can be relevant.
6)This article was created to get other opinions about what people think about which online is better and why. Tehcnically Halo 3 is not in HD as you much run at 720p at least to be considered HD. Halo 3 runs 640p and is upscaled.

I have a Wii that my TV upscales it to 720p but the Wii can only output 480p at the most. Just like the PS3 upscales old PS2 games. That doesn’t meant these games are in HD just that they are getting upscaled. Same with Halo 3.
My friend owns 360 while I own the PS3. We have both let each other try the games we are mentioning here. Hands down my friend says, this christmas he is going to have a PS3 and Warhawk. Cant compare the 2. Warhawk has more going on than ppl aiml.essly flying or walking around. in fact most of the time its 2 ppl who are not doing abjectives and about 30 having an all out war including objectives. From what i can tell the 2 ppl who are not doing abjectives are these 360 fanboys who are trying it out.
oh yea, and warhawk comes with a mic. so everyone who has the game has one. Get your facts straight .
Now that we’ve determined that you can’t really compare the two quite unrelated games, can someone tell how does Warhawk compare to Battlefield2? (sorry, I’m an xbox owner and I actually do want to know…)

WARHAWK is better. Halo is a tiny little mickey mouse when it comes to multiplayer.
Warhawk’s a lot more fun that Battlefield 2, Coat. Controls are much smoother and the action more frantic. As long as you play the territories mode it’s even the same basic “capture the spawn point” game Battlefield made so popular. I still prefer Halo3 online to both BF2 and Warhawk, but seriously, all three are great games and have unique elements to them. BF2 has the commander component, Warhawk has more players and fast paced aerial combat, Halo3 has much better melee and ground weapon combat, and better ground vehical combat. Take your pick.

Halo 3 will sale same amount of copies as 1 and 2 did, and sold only to MS fanboys who own Xbox and now 360. It doesn’t get any people to buy 360. Halo 3 just sale to same gamers that own Halo 1 and 2. To all Halo and 360 fanboy out there, 360 will not exceed more than 25 million consoles just like Xbox 1 sold. Meanwhile PS3 gonna sale 100 plus million like PS1 and PS2. So all MS fanboys shut the hell up. Time to play Warhawk guys.
