We have had some information sent in from Sylvi Trembath, who talks about Madeleine McCann’s investigation and Portuguese police corruption.
They did disclose any sources, so we are not sure how much of this is fact but let us know what you make of it.
Sylvi Trembath Said:
How is it that the Portuguese Police focus on the McCann family when there is more reason to suspect the own corruption?
Goncalo Amaral and four other Portuguese police officers were recently charged with offences relating to the inquiry into the disappearance of Joana Cipriano from a village seven miles from where Madeleine was abducted.
Portugal’s Ministerio Publico, the district attorney, confirmed that it had charged three police officers with torture, a fourth with omission of evidence and a fifth with falsification of documents. It did not reveal who had been charged with which offence.
Despite the charges, Mr Amaral, the co-ordinator of the Policia Judiciaria in Portimao, has not been suspended from working on the Madeleine investigation - How crazy is that!!!
Did we ever get an explanation as to why these Police Officers did what they did to the Cipriano family, apart from wanting her to confess?
And why haven’t the five Police Officers been placed under the suspect status, As their behaviour is very strange ?
Do these Police Officers have anything to do with Madeleine’s disappearance? Nothing would surprise me the way this investigation is going!

Those foreign police, eh? Can’t be trusted, those bloody dagos.
Seriously, get over yourself. The British press (I’ll include you in this) has behaved far worse than the Portuguese police, and I can’t quite tell if you’re just desperate for something to write about, or racist.

yes the british press were just as bad but only from receiving from the portuguse press and leaking infomation from the pj probably from the dodgy officer himself.as they havent a clue who the abductor is they dont want to admit it was a abduction so they are looking too blame the parents, one minute they are saying they think she’s buried next to the church, then in spain, they havent a clue next they will be saying they have took her home with them, its about time these officers were sacked and got on with finding madeleine.

This possibility has occurred to me.
A similar disappearance in the same area suggests a local pedophile or group might be responsible. Why were the police so anxious to get a confession that they tortured a mother - is it impossible that pedophiles could not exist in the police ? Is that any more impossible than we be asked to believe that an apparently “normal” mother could kill her own cherished daughter?

of course dave, acusing the Mccann with no proof, its allright. but accusing the police, its racist.
thing about Julie and Melissa case few years ago…….

How is what Sylvi Trembath Said Racist?
It has nothing to-do with race and also it was not said by Sylvi, it could by UK police, french police or Portuguese police…it does not matter.
Its an opinion which someone feels, but I have no idea why people have got to bring “racist” into it…that makes them out to have a racist side when there is none.
Unless I am missing something here.

I so agree on ALL your say!!!! I also think people in Portugal are afraid of telling what they know of the police there in case something would happend to them or their close ones.
Everything the PJ do could be well planned and they are working hard to cover up their corruption…I think the EU and governments around Europe should take a look into what is going on in this country…they remind me of Saddam Husseins regime!!!

Hi.
I just wanted to put a point out there that has evaded some forums with respect to this specific discussion.
I recently read an article which I can find on the case of the Cipriano family. To be honest, it looks very much like the little girl was killed by the family members. She was killed in a very brutal way. The court heard quite upsetting stuff in relation to the couple.
You need to be logical about this discussion. Even if you call into question the integrity of the police, it doesn’t mean they are wrong or right.
Police brutality is a terrible thing and I believe that we all need to try to be objective about that - it shouldn’t happen. And it is fair enough to dismiss a member of the force for the abuse of someone under questioning. It means the wanted to beat an admission out of someone. That’s what it means.
Neither of the Madeleine’s parents were physically abused nor would they ever have been abused in that way by the police.
Other police officers will replace these. They will be using the same evidence. No admissions have been made.

True, not racist - just xenophobic. And I didn’t say it was the parents wot dunnit. I wish that everyone could just accept that we have no idea who did it, and we don’t even know for certain what “it” is (abduction? murder? WE DON’T KNOW).

There might be something in this! I found an article written by the Times, here’s a copy

Nice find Chris:
If in fact what The Times is reporting “Madeleine McCann police tortured me, says mother behind bars”, then this story from Sylvi Trembath would carry more weight.
Although I guess that is still up for debate.

What are you talking about Deepy? The little girl was never found so how can you say she was brutally killed? And in Sylvi Trebath’s article it says that the police were accused of falsification of documents.
And the Police tried to get Mrs McCann to agree to her being involve with her daughters death even though they didn’t have a body and they couldn’t beat her-up now could they as the whole World is watching.
12 Helen // Sep 28, 2007 at 1:11 pm
Deepy, you say that the Cipriano girl was killed in a very brutal way but how do they know this when a body has never been found?
13 claire // Sep 28, 2007 at 2:19 pm
i think that the some of the police are involved in maddies disapearance! they now who as her!! they use the portuguese law to protect them selfs only.. not only are they trying to accuse the mcanns of murder now they are saying they cant hire private detectives I WONDER WHY….
14 Dave // Sep 28, 2007 at 3:17 pm
Of course, if this was all happening in the UK then the press wouldn’t be able to spew all this speculative garbage, because under UK media law it would be illegal to do so (and it’s a bit dodgy under the present circumstances anyway).
But take it overseas, and it’s a field day for hacks who are otherwise constrained. Sure the reporters are being secretly briefed in every direction by Portuguese officers, but I would be surprised if they weren’t paying money for info, so of course people are going to say whatever just to get a buck or two.
Not just that, but the officers there are probably favouring Portuguese journalists and giving them all the best scoops, thus pissing off the UK journalists even more and inspiring them to blame the cops for everything.
Seriously - don’t you folks have any idea whatsoever of what the press are like?

Translate this blog! It is a very complete compilation of information about the case. Photos that were not discussed and subjects that never were explained in order to blame to the Madeleine’s parents.
16 Chris // Sep 28, 2007 at 3:47 pm
Do you work for the Portuguese Police Dave?
17 Support from South Africa // Sep 28, 2007 at 4:02 pm
Please get private detectives to very secretly investigate the Portugese Police, specially Almaral. What are they hiding and for who are they covering. Can somebody not please stop them from making bigger fools of themselves and hurting the feelings of the Mccann family with all there smear and badmouthing, where is the proof? Is there no such thing as diffimation in that country? Please help the Portugese police to get help!!!!!

I have never in my life heard of such foolishness and of police working on an International case, making such fools of themselves and there country. All there allegations and suspicions seem totally absurd, fabricating stories, shame and maybe they need to read a few good detective stories to get some better and more origanal ideas, maybe the investigating officers are involved and are covering up, trying to blame the parents. Poor Maddie, where is she, what have they done with her, how can the police not look for her, maybe they know where she is, trying to keep the heat away from the Hot Sot, focussing on the parents, shame…..All there info, what a joke, then she is believed to be buried at the resort, then at the church, then in Spain, oh my oh my….can they please be realistic! Can the government please remove the leading investigating officers, with there already shaky past and employ other investigators. Professionals please, if they don’t have, ask other countries for help. Can anybody blame the McCann family for hiring private investigators? That seems the only manner that they will find Maddie!
19 Dave // Sep 28, 2007 at 4:25 pm
No, I’m a journalist, Chris. Jeez…
20 Chris // Sep 28, 2007 at 6:26 pm
I think Dave you’re missing the point! The McCann family have had their daughter taken away from them. The Portuguese Police are the ones that seem to be putting up all the obstacles! I thank the Media for keeping this in the public eye.
21 Chris // Sep 28, 2007 at 7:54 pm
Portuguese police were tonight scouring apartments for a fridge where Madeleine McCann’s tiny body could have been stored for up to three months!

Daniel- How much you got paid for this news?
You are cheap and false

@ Laura
Well it looks like you have a few problems in understanding what was said above.
1) I got an email from Sylvi Trembath, with the above information…as said.
2) I posted this information and said “They did disclose any sources, so we are not sure how much of this is fact but let us know what you make of it”.
3) People have gave their opinions on what Sylvi Trembath said and some people even linking to news from The Times that supports what Sylvi Trembath said in the email to me.
4) My name is Daniel.
I hope you learn to understand more when someone like me was not judging, just reporting information and news (even stating as not fact, just Sylvi Trembath opinion
25 Chris // Sep 29, 2007 at 11:32 am
You can have an opinion without name calling Laura! Here is a snippet for you, Mrs Gonzalez, said she was certain the youngster was Madeleine and contacted Spanish police as soon as she got home. The report was passed to the Policia Judiciaria in Portugal but little was done. However, the Moroccan secret police were intrigued. Chief Chouhou said its officers were ordered to search for the youngster and the woman, who was described as short and stocky, and wearing a black headscarf and brown full-length Arabic dress.
And that’s what the McCann’s are up against! Here’s the article so read it for your self.

Get a petition drafted and signed in support of the McCanns to get there names cleared, and allowing them to freelly search for Maddy!
27 Chris // Sep 29, 2007 at 7:09 pm
There is one although it asks you for a donation which has nothing to do with the McCann family, if you don’t wish to donate just skip to the next page.

okay great, thanks! Will do so!
29 Matt // Sep 30, 2007 at 6:20 pm
I do hope this case gets solved. The McCanns have clearly been to hell and back! I honestly do not know what or who to believe anymore. I read in sundays newspapers that there may be a new suspect in the case! That of a Maid. Who apparently is an ex-employee who worked at the ocean club.
The maid was thrown out of her job, and they reckon she carried out a twisted revenge. So Madeleine was her chosen victim! There are also factual events to back-up this claim!
Whether this is true or not, we cannot speculate!
I hope that one day, she just might be found alive..

Little Girl Madeleine McCann will be coming home soon, safe and sound…

PRAY FOR MADDY TO COME HOME ALIVE.

Goncalo Amaral has just been sacked and about time too!
33 Support from South Africa // Oct 3, 2007 at 12:16 pm
Yeah, it is the best news in days, that Amaral is dismissed from the Maddie case. Hopefully some proper and proffesional investigating work can be done. It was about time the Portuguese authorities did something.Hopefully the McCanns can now have there names cleared to and I am sure all the speculation will stop as Amaral is not busy “boozing” reporting allegations to the Press. Hope Maddie will be home soon!
34 Rose // Oct 3, 2007 at 12:44 pm
I have been following Amaral’s investigation but he wasn’t compliant with the family of Madeleine McCann. He has been ruthless, especially when he interrogated the parents and he is so “BOOZING”. I thank God, that he has been laid off, and someone else will be handling this case amicably. Let us hope that Madeleine is still alive in God’s name.
