A mistrial has been declared by the judge in the Phil Spector case because the jury was unable to reach a verdict. Jurors were discharged by Judge Larry Paul Fidler from Los
Angeles Superior Court after they told the court they were deadlocked.
The jury has been deliberated for 12 days following the five-month-long-hearing. It was revealed that jurors were split 10-2 on whether to convict the music producer, but did not reveal which verdict they were leaning towards.
Phil Spector was accused with the murder of actress Lana Clarkson. If he is found guilty, he will face 15 years to life in prison. Prosecutors now have to decide whether they want to try Spector again on murder or lesser charges.
There will be a further hearing will take place on October 3rd.
