Multiplayer Maps: Halo 3 on Xbox 360 vs Warhawk on Sony PS3

HAHAHAHA!!! Gameplay doesn’t even get close to Warhawk eh?? Halo3 is sooo crap then!!! Sure people say the graphics are great (if u like drawn on lighting) but SURELY gameplay is much much more important than shiny graphics. I think the game play in warhawk is great, not the best and could be better but, if Halo is not even as good but worse I’m not even gonna bother. Shame on u microsoft shame on u bungie and shame on u shitbox3shitty!!

yeah i agree warhawks maps are much more enjoyabled i was getting bored of halo 3 yesterday. and does anyone else think gears looks better, cos i do.

I think John took noodles advice and got sun stroke and started to speak crap… I have now played both Halo and WH and this article is not worth writing. All I can say is I think my PS3 will be gathering dust for quite some time… may even look at selling it before Christmas to get some money back as it is has been very disapointing, but you live and learn..

Yes as I said above “the graphics of Halo 3’s maps are stunning it is the gameplay that is lacking”.

Trust me, go and play warhawk for a few hours and you shall see how much better it is at 10, 20 etc players online playing.

Its not just better, its way better than halo 3 at that.

Co-op play Halo 3 is way better and graphics is way better, but if you love gameplay with lots of peopel online…you cannot touch warhawk.

Thats only my opinion from someone who has played both.

I have played and own both and have to say I think it’s hard to compare the 2. Warhawk is multiplayer only and so has to excel online and it does, but has no campaign. The graphics are not as bad as people seem to make out either, no matter how mad it gets on screen there’s never any slow down or pop up on the huge maps. It’s a great game.

Halo 3, well I’ve been playing it pretty much non-stop, and I have to say (apart from the odd bit of slow-down) it is a superb game both in terms graphics and playability. It genuinely does make me laugh sometimes during the campaign. Online co-op is superb!! It’s the first Halo game I’ve ever bought and I think it’s a really enjoyable game! Doesn’t look better than gears or Bio-shock but so what?

Both great games, just lucky enough to enjoy both.

Play and enjoy the games.

I’ve played all the Halo’s and Halo 3 is incredible But for sheer raw all out mayhem fun give me warhawk anytime. The entire design of warhawk, from individual weapon power through vehicles and terrain is near perfect

If Warhawk is a Multiplayer game only then why are you comparing it to Halo 3. Why not Shadow Run? Plus you have to remember it’s 16 player tops. You don’t need extra big maps for that many people. Even though I have never played Warhawk it just seems dumb to compare it to Halo 3.

Charles, Warhawk has 32 players max, and you can play the big maps with as little as 16 because of the vehicle system.

Warhawk is the most intense 1st person /flyer/driver shooter i have ever seen and nothing is going to come close for some time. Halo is like another book, it will just get continued many times. (if you want comparison) I enjoy battling humans, campaigns dont come close to human interactivity.

Well I have been reading about Warhawk and I found out that it only has 5 Maps. Compared to the many maps in Halo 3 which I will have to count when I go home. But to my memory there is there is probably 10-15 maps. If you paste some of thoes maps together to equal what a warhawk map to scale is you will bropably get more then 5 maps. Mind you I’m speculating. Does warhawk let you edit the map because I just started playing around with the forge mode in Halo 3 and it is quite amazing. I will have to play this warhawk someday soon.

warhawk has 5 map types, but they change a good deal depending on which formation you use, and no there is no editor.

At least we get to play on 15 different maps. That’s called Variety. And who cares about 32 players are you going to kill all 32 at once. Also is there spawning. If it doesn’t then yes it does suck because I wouldn’t want to wait for 32 people to die to start a match let alone find someone in such a large environment. I would fall asleep like in did in Rainbow Vegas. Let me know about this spawning if it has it or not.

It definitely has spawning, in fact you can pick to spawn near the action, if your team has that spawn captured.

The article makes a good point. WH maps are HUGE, think Battlefield 2 but you can get to most of the Map you see. With that scope you might lose some graphical quality. So it’s a trade off. Beauty for gameplay.

I have to agree with GameHero – I Have always thought HALO series to be very slow paced. I did notice Master Chief move a bit faster in Halo 3, but still a near crawling pace. That has been my complaint from Day 1 about Halo. I came from Quake 3 (Jedi Knight Series) were game play is brisk and super fast paced. So HaSlow never impressed me gameplay wise. Graphics do look cool, but it’s back to the trade off…

you need to play in the forge mode. You can run across the map in no time and you can change you jumping so your jumping like you got rockets on your feet. It’s so crazy the editor. This is going to change the way multiplayer is done. Imagine spawning anything you want and changing the ability of your master cheif.

Also I have seemed to be schooled at warhawk so thank you for the info. I put my foot in my mouth. It may be a good game in it’s respects but it better be for only being a multiplayer. But the bottom line is it lacks variety and Good graphics. I thought this Playstation 3 was suppose to be a better machine. I’m waiting for Sony to live upto what they say it can do. 1 more month until your aniverasary. Nothing to show.

Warhawk has a great art style and is running with 4x anti-aliasing..that means absolutely no jaggies..it has plenty of variety..play the game for a bit then talk some more BS

OK I finally got my Laptop back and I was able to go to gametrailers.com because at work they block this site. I must say it did look like on of the better games I have seen on PS3. I can see what dude was saying about the graphics but it really is not that much of a big deal because there is so much to look at. I’ll go out and say this though. I really can’t believe that there are comparisons made between Halo and Warhawk. In my opinion you should have both games if you can afford both systems. But I wouldn’t buy a system based on one game. but I did play haevenly sword and that was not bad I just which the AI was smarter but if PS3 can keep producing some more quality games that are not shared then eventually when price drops considerably I will get one. Maybe by 2009. My Big screen and home theater will come next year.

Yeah, while I let you go on about all the good points and the bad points of each of the games, I think ill have a go on warhawk until I get the ps3.

I am always surprised when people say Warhawk’s graphics aren’t great. I’ve played almost 100 hours now, and I think the graphics are excellent. Maybe the graphical style is just not what people are used to. I find the Halo 3 characters to be slow and robotic in comparison. Also, the resolution of Halo 3 feels lower (using 1080p 47″ over HDMI).

Many of the spawnpoints in Warhawk are like a city. There is so much space to explore that I’m still finding new spots after 100 hours. One full Warhawk map is equivelent to many Halo maps.

I think Halo 3 is a lot of fun, of course. I just kind of put it down after finishing the campaigns and playing online for a few hours. But Warhawk has me hooked.

Ok about whats bein said on this I totaly agree with the article Warhawks graphics aren’t the best in the world but hell think about the fact that its an MM game Halo 3 has better graphics but it is limited were as warhawk you have an entier World.

Warhawk- Ownage Gameplay and always exciteing.

Halo 3- Good Graphics and good story line.

are you flippen kidding me. the xbox 360 is a load of crap. every friend i hav has an xbox 360 and has had to send it in to repair 7 times. and the ps3 has better graphics than the xbox 360. its not the ps3 graphics. its the games. The creators try there best on the resolution, sharpness, ect. theres a new games coming out for the ps3 and the grapghics look like they were made of real footage of people.
