Not long announced Toshiba revealed their stunning new gigashot A and K series camcorders in Japan, if I can take my eyes of the pictures below I will try and carry on. Right I am back, the all new Toshiba gigashot A100F video recorder which boasts an array of cool features and of which I really do like, so if this is only in Japan this could be quite annoying.

The Toshiba gigashot A100F camcorder features a 1.8 inch 100GB disk with 1/3-inch CMOS sensor 2 megapixel stills or even 1,920 x 1,080 recordings at 60fps with 16bit/48kHz Dolby digital stereo audio at a 384kbps bit rate, that is roughly about 12 many hours of MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 formatted video at the best quality setting possible plus 23 hours in the standard mode.

How about 10x optical zoom, SDHC expansion, 3 inch LCD and HDMI and component out, you also get USB linkup with your PC, the size is only a mere 78.1 x 135.4 x 79.0-mm which is why this is the worlds smallest full HD camcorder with a built in hard disk drive.

The Toshiba gigashot K series on the other hands features 0.92 megapixel stills stored in a maximum 80GB disk and 720p video. I personally go for the gigashot A100F. Now for the prices and dates – The Toshiba gigashot A100F will cost around $1,628 (¥188,000) and will start shipping mid November and the lower 40GB K-series model will cost around $935 (¥108,000) shipping late October.
