Sony PS3 model CECHG01 revealed from FCC: The cheap 40GB Playstation 3

Remember when we posted news about the 40GB Sony PS3 which were speculations and of which I was not expecting a brand new Playstation 3 model from Sony, well guess what just as it happens I came across this over at the FCC exhibits list what seems to be a brand new Sony PS3 with the model number being CECHG01.
Now this is great news for all because it shows that the new one will have 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, 66MHz ATA, 3.2GHz CPU clocking speed and 133MHz ATA, 33MHz PCI and even 750MHz SATA1 plus many ports including HDMI, Ethernet and USB.
Ok so there is nothing special here so why the new model number, well my guess is that the hard disk has had a change and that this number says that there are unique model numbers for changes within the storage department (not too sure on this one).

SORRY BOUT THE DUMB QUESTION….where is the blu-ray ?
I think it comes with no hard drive whatsoever.
This will allow them to bring it down to $400.00 (I think)

Not the 40GB, I reckon it’s a 200GB PS3.
I recon the 80GB will drop to $399 (£325) and a new high end SKU will arrive, the 200GB PS3, for $499 (£399)

if they bring out a new 200gb PS3 then they will need to bum up the price, not $499 but $699. If an 80gb is 599 then why would a 200gb be 499?
And it is more likely that the 40gb one will be the 399 one.

They is rumor that a high GB PS3 will be coming to Japan so Mak is not completey wrong. I still think this one is the 40gb though
