An internet death threat has been posted against the judge in the Phil Spector murder trial. A spokesman for Los Angeles Superior Court has said that the sheriff’s office was investing the message, which was posted on the Team Spector page of networking site MySpace.
The message in question read, “I love Phil Spector!! The evil judge should die!!”. The message was posted by someone named Schelle and was hastily removed on Monday.
Detectives are taking the threat against Judge Larry Paul Fidler very seriously. Despite media reports saying the opposite, Mr Spector’s defence lawyers have denied that his wife Rachelle was the author of the post.
Jurors are now spending their tenth day considering the verdict in what has been a five-month long trial.
‘Wall of Sound’ founder Phil Spector faces 15 years to life in prison if he is found guilty of murdering actress Lana Clarkson. Defence lawyers are stating that Ms Clarkson (The Barbarian Queen) killed herself after her career stalled.
What do you think of the threat? Do you think it should be taken seriously or is it an off the cuff remark?
