Transformers 2: Release Date Announced

Transformers. Best movie this year? Some may say so! Earning a whopping $700 million, there was never any doubt that Paramount would green light a sequel instantly. There has been rumours of a sequel for a while but now it’s official as the release date has been set.

Yes, you’ll be seeing further adventures of Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ratchet and all their robotic friends on… June 26th 2009 .
That means the movie will be released in the height of summer movies season and in the middle of George Miller’s Justice League Of America (Yes!!) and James Cameron’s Avatar.

There’s no word as of yet on the plot, but surely it will involve the arrival of more Decepticons after Starscream’s post-credits flight into space? Who knows!

Michael Bay seems to be directing- which has confused me as I was sure he had put the Transformers sequel on hold for 2012, so we’ll have to keep you informed on that one. Thanks to the glory of contractual obligation, Shia LaBeouf and smoking hot Megan Fox will be reprising their roles.
