DreamWorks Animation SKG, the company behind great movies like Shrek and Shark Tale has named Tom Freston to its board of directors.

Freston was dismissed as president and CEO of Viacom a little over a year ago and was replaced by Philippe Dauman. Viacom’s Paramount Pictures unit purchased DreamWorks in December 2005 for $1.6 billion although the DWA is a separate, publicly traded company run by CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg.
