Halo 3 sales may save Microsoft’s Xbox 360 even if it has the red ring of death syndrome

We all have gathered that the Microsoft Xbox 360 has the red ring of death syndrome but on a personal note I can see the new game already out in the U.S and coming tomorrow 26th September Halo 3 somehow may save the feared console, could this true, could this game save the 360? Stats say that the sales of the Xbox 360 are well behind the likes of the Nintendo Wii and have failed to make a profit for the company (Apparently).
Halo 3 is the most anticipated games of all time and of which being covered so many times on many blogs and websites and many more places, it is the title of the year if not the title of all titles. There have been more than 1.5 million copies of Halo 3 that has been pre-ordered before the UK release which makes it the fastest selling game in history of which beats Halo 2 pre-sales which was released in 2004, Halo 2 made an estimated $125 million in sales within the first 24 hours of its release in the States.
Some say that Microsoft may even sell more than 3 million copies of Halo 3 within the first 2 weeks of it being in stores and that around 30 percent of people buying the game will also buy the Xbox 360 as well (happy days for Microsoft).
Halo 3 will come out in 3 different versions which are the Standard Edition, the Limited Edition and the Legendary Edition.
Answer this question – Will Halo 3 game sales save the Xbox 360 even thou it has the red ring of death syndrome?

I don’t believe the 360 needs saving… It could just be me but it seems to be doing OK. Games are very good and XBL is just perfect ( Except the fee ), but you get what you pay for…
I have read most of this guys articles and they all seem to have a bit about the RROD, even if the story is about some thing completely different. You have not even had it with your console so why keep going on about it, just enjoy the games and be happy that they are still bringing out good games. Because if either Sony or Microsoft fail we will be in for a very bad time. Competition make companies work a lot harder. Lets just support all consoles and play there games, and hope that the “Gaming industry” keeps going well and we don’t go back to the late 80’s early 90 where it all went Tit’s UP
and we don’t want that….
This web site blows. The Editor is obviously a PS3 fan that’s why I hardly come here any more. They are always trying to start shit.
I couldn’t agree with Chris and Charles more. Well said. Plus, considering that MS has owned up to the “red ring of death” problem by extending the warranty (even for those who purchased at launch), I really see this as a non-issue at this point. But, I guess if I had plunked down $600 dollars on a PS3, I would be rightfully upset and trying to denigrate other systems, as well, in a form of self-preservation. MS should capitalize and offer to sell Xbox at a discount to all current PS3 owners who are willing to trade in their PS3 systems.
Sorry if I have offending anyone and must state clearly I do not favor either console better than each other. I have the Xbox 360 at home and do not have the PS3 yet and yes I do love the 360 without a doubt.
But the fact of the matter is, I do not go out to post material here without looking around and speaking to people first about any issue that any games console has. This was an issue that many people have which is RROD.
This is the last time i visit this site, all you seem to do these days is try to provoke fanboy wars in order to get hits and there’s a limit to how many articles you can drop RRD into before it gets obvious that you just want to keep the flame wars going.
I don’t have an opinion on whether you guys are pro Sony, MS, Nintendo or imparcial and i don’t care but as long as you keep writing crass like this count me out.
Answer this question - would going back to writing interesting topics worthy of commenting on save this site even though it has the fanboy baiting for hits syndrome?
Who gives a shit about the rrod!! were you not paying attention?? hello-3 yr warrenty!! give me the rrod, i`ll just get a new one–HALO BABY!! it`s here, why not write about whats going to save ps3??
Only 360 fanboys always want to overlook RROD and whine like “but PS3 sux!”
Ok well I think that you oviously said some things wrong in this article but the fact is that the Xbox did not need saving, it already has great games and is doing decent in sales. Halo 3 is why i bought the console a year ago for and what all my frends bought it for.
Im not going to get into all the games that I have and enjoy for the Xbox but you are just wrong about the Xbox needing saving. The RROD is simply a non issue.
If anything its the PS3 that needs saving. Even more so now that Halo 3 is out.
You need to get your facts straight buddy.
Ok there ONE.
I have never had a RROD, my friend had one and all he had to do was send it in and he would get a new one.
Maybe the PS3 doesnt suck but the games do.
To One:
The PS3 sucks because:
(1) has no games
(2) costs too much
(3) see 1 and 2
Its a game console designed around a HD format that no one cares about … because of this, they have to charge $600 for it. Since they are not selling, no one is making games for it. Exclusives that sell systems are not on the PS3. They are on the 360.
Its over. PS3 is dead. Let it go.
