Frank Miller’s The Spirit To Find Love With Sarah Paulson

Frank Miller’s ‘The Spirit’ has another new cast member. Sarah Paulson is set to join Eva Mendes and Scarlett Johansson in the film noir about a rookie cop (played by Gabriel Macht), who returns from the dead to fight crime as the Spirit from the shadows of Central City.

Sarah Paulson won’t be playing a femme fatale as Mendes and Johansson are. She will be playing the hero’s true love, Dr. Ellen Dolan, the police commissioner’s daughter. Samuel L. Jackson also stars in the movie as the villainous Octopus.

Other new recruits include Dan Lauria, Stana Katic, Johnny Simmons and Louis Lombardi.
Lauria will be playing the police commissioner, Katic will play the rookie cop, Simmons will play a young Denny Colt leaving Lombardi to play Phobos, Octopus’ henchman.

Filming starts in New Mexico in October with Lionsgate aiming for a 2009 release.
