British special forces In A Daring Raid In Afghanistan

Reportedly British Special Forces have taken part in a daring raid to rescue two Italian hostages in Afghanistan.
It was said that operatives from the Special Boat Service became embroiled in a fierce firefight during the operation. It’s reported that at least nine of the kidnappers were killed in the raid.
The two Italian Hostages had been taken by local tribesmen who were in negotiations to hand them over to the Taliban when the Special Boat Service struck.
Italian officials have said that the kidnapped pair were found gagged and chained - and had also been beaten one of them was shot and wounded and the other had a broken shoulder and collarbone.
An Italian military source in Rome said that “This was a complex operation which involved Italian and British Special Forces, with the British troops leading the way.
Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi said: “The operation was brought about by Italian and British troops. This was fruit of a strong co-operation that exists between two friendly countries. It was a very complex operation and sophisticated means was used. The result of this operation is a heavy defeat for the kidnappers and should serve as a warning for the future.”
