Kate Nash Makes Sexism Stand
By: Kerry | September 24, 2007
Kate Nash has complained about the sexist taunts that she has to put up with when she is on stage.
Kate, who was heckled during a recent gig at London Barfly, has argued that people need to make a stand against lewd audience members like they would in situations of racism or homophobia.
Kate has said that “You shouldn’t be able to get away with shouting out sexist s*** at people while they’re on stage. You won’t get away with shouting racial slurs at a gig, neither homophobic slurs, and please, I can’t believe someone could be bothered to heckle something like that. We should speak our minds about these things, address them and get over them. Someone asked me in an interview the other day if I hated men, which I found so trivial and ridiculous and offensive, the sort of question that might as well be a heckle on stage.
Do you agree with her?
