Jason Donovan Gives Advice To Britney Spears and Amy Winehouse

Jason Donovan has admitted that he understands why Britney Spears decided to rebel.

Jason said that he believes that he had similar attitudes to Britney when he became addicted to cocaine after finding fame on Neighbours in the 80s.

Jason said that “Drugs are not cool. There’s nothing cool about being in a box underground and that’s where I was heading for a long time, but a lot of what happened to me had to do with circumstance. I was only 17 when I walked into a television show that totally changed my life.”

Jason was asked in an interview if he could give any advice to Britney and Amy Winehouse, Jason replied “What can you say? I can’t tell them what to do. People in the artistic world think that creativity can come from drug use and I think there is an element of truth in that. But Britney Spears is a classic example - a lot of money, became very famous very young and she just wants to rebel, she wants to f*** up the image, she wants to crash the car and become different, cool. I was exactly the same… but I can’t tell Britney what to do.”

Jason went on to say that “You have to lie in the bed you’ve made. You court the media and the media turns on you. That’s life. My advice to Amy or Britney would probably be, if you don’t like it, become a plumber.”
