Wal-Mart, Ultimate Electronics, Bjorn: not stocking Venturer SHD7000 HD DVD player

The Venturer SHD7000 HD DVD player is the “cheapest standalone high-definition format player” and priced at $199.
Sadly it’s got a fight on its hands as although it’s the cheapest, the major American retailers (including Wal-Mart, Ultimate Electronics and Bjorn’s) do not want commit to stocking the HD-DVD player.
I do not understand this as many of us buy brands that are not major, but these American retailers say they would prefer products from bigger brand companies.
So you tell me, would you buy the Venturer player because it’s the cheapest or would you pay more for a brand like Sony, Samsung, Philips, Toshiba and RCA?

yes i buy
What this piece fails to mention, is that most of the larger American retailers don’t deal with middle-men. And the Venturer HD DVD player has its North American rights in the hands of a company in Canada; which means they will be making deals with smaller companies than Walmart.
Meanwhile, Walmart, and others, will make their exclusive deals directly with the manufacturers; so you will end up seeing something like an inexpensive Haier or Shinco Chinese HD DVD player (basically a Toshiba HD-A3) on the Walmart shelves instead of the Venturer model. Expect a flood of Chinese HD DVD players across the country very soon.
Idiots. They’re not getting my high-definition dollars.
Ok, so they will not stock it. Why dont they find out who is?
