Justin Timberlake And Sarah Michelle Gellar In Southland Tales Trailer

The screening of this movie at the Cannes Film Festival shocked people - they had never known of such a bad buzz to come from a film screening. Since then, Richard Kelly has been on damage control to protect his second film after cult classic Donnie Darko.

Southland Tales has now been re-cut, with new special effects added and is said to be a totally different movie. After a long wait, the trailer has finally hit the web and I’m shocked and stunned that I’m excited about it. I really thought I wouldn’t like this film and I’d have to be harsh about the trailer, which I don’t.

The music used in the trailer is great. The Pixies and Moby? Great match! The play on the famous TS Eliot quote: “This is how the world ends, not with a bang, but with a whimper”.

Clearly a lot of thought has been put in the re-cut of the movie and I’m glad. Southland Tales looks amazing, though I’m not sure whether you’d be able to make sense of the movie without reading the prequel graphic novels which hit bookstores in October.
