My favourite couple (sarcasm intended) Brett Ratner and Chris Tucker has teamed up again! No, don’t worry not another Rush Hour movie, the duo are set to collaborate on an adaptation of the book Mr S.: My Life With Frank Sinatra.
The book is a tell-all and was written by George Jacobs, Sinatra’s long-time valet with William Stadiem, who is an old Hollywood biographer and screenwriter. The story apparently weaves in celebrity anecdotes involving Marilyn Monroe, Peter Lawford, The Kennedys, Ava Gardner, Humphrey Bogart, Mia Farrow, Elvis, Marlene Dietrich and Swifty Lazar.
The rights to the book were bought by New Line, with Ratner attached to produce and direct and Tucker looking set to play the lead.
Stadiem told Variety, “It’s like a love story between two very unlikely people […] Brett is a Rat Pack obsessive, and so it’s fun to work with someone so passionate about the period. I think he’s channelling Frank sometimes.”
I’m quite excited about the thought of a film about the Rat Pack and the Hollywood Glamour days. The casting would have to be on point thought, otherwise a lot of people will be disappointed.
I personally think Scarlett Johansson would make a great Marylin Monroe.
What about you, who would you cast for the film?
