Reportedly nine people have died and three more are missing after a tropical storm that started life as a typhoon hit eastern China with torrential rain and gales.
The damage from the tropical storm that followed Typhoon Wipha has been estimated at more than £400m.
It has been said that five people died in landslides unleashed by the storm in Zhejiang Province, which neighbours Shanghai and another two were electrocuted while trying to weatherproof their homes in Jiangsu Province, to the north of Zhejiang.
One Shanghai man was electrocuted when he stepped into water that had swamped power cables and a construction worker was killed when the storm knocked over scaffolding in Taiwan.
The storm was forecast to pass over the Yellow Sea toward the Korean peninsula.
The storm is said to have destroyed thousands of houses and disrupted power to more than 100 communities.
