The two Finalists Lavell Crawford and Jon Reep On the Last Comic Standing 5 season finale were led onto the stage by the USC Trojans marching band.
The host of the finale Bill Bellamy warmed up the audience with an OJ Simpson joke and started a top ten countdown of the biggest laughs in Last Comic Standing history.
Special guest comedians Carrot Top and Robert Schimmel performed stand-up routines.
The biggest laugh in the Last Comic Standing history was revealed to be Jay London joking that he was the fourth guy from the left on the evolutionary chart.
Host Bill Bellamy revealed that the most votes in Last Comic history had been cast and that Jon Reep was the winner.
Jon Reep won the grand prize of $250,000, an exclusive talent contact with NBC, and his own half-hour comedy special on Bravo.
Do you think that the right person won the finale or do you think Lavell should have won?

YES! Jon Reep deserved to win and it was proven with the votes that he received!
Thank you for announcing the winner, I think NBC purposely dragged out the announcement to screw up TiVos and recorders!!. I waited all season to get the winner and the last thing on my TV was Bill Bellamy saying and the winner of Last Comic standing is……. Then the recording stopped. I HATE NBC AND I HATE NBC.COM!! They still haven’t posted the name of the winner!! John Reep should have won even though I’m a big fan of Lavells. There are only so many self-deprecating fat jokes I can stand.
I thought that Ravell Crawford was robbed of the crown. He was consistantly funnier than the other comedians. I was so impressed by his humour that for the first time I tried to vote for a reality show. I don’t know if it is usual but I tried unsuccessfully to vote five times over a period of two hours. The message was that the call was unable to go through at the time. So I guess Ravelle should hit the speed button for Al Shartpton after all.
Lavell Crawford was robbed and He should have won Last Comic Standing
Lavell was robbed. Reep couldn’t sustain 5 minutes of funny. It is going to be brutal when he has to do 30. If you’re planning on watching his special, bring a pillow or no-doze.
Maybe it turned out for the best. If Lavell had to do a special they might have had to pay extra to keep paramedics on stand-by. He could go any minute and that performance would be major stress.
Both were very funny and entertaining. I think Reep won because he was able to show he could be funny in many different situations and topics. Ravell was great but constatnly talked about his weight and didn’t show he could deviate from just that topic..Both were great and will have great carreers!
You gotta love Jon Reep. At last nights roast, Lavell seemed to get a little uptight when they bore into him with the fat jokes. The man from HICKORY roasted to perfection.
And when it was Jon’s turn, man did he turn up the after burners and scorch his antagonists’ hides!
WHAT ARE SHOES FOR?
To walk up and take that first place title of
LAST COMIC STANDING!!!!!!! Way to go Jon!
LAVELLE WAS ROBBED!! He should have taken the crown. He was wayy funnier and more consistant. He did all the fat jokes cuz thats the only thing other people could talk about him for so he beat you to it. ITs refreshing to see someone comfortable enough in their own skin to poke fun at themselves despite societies norms for outside beauty. I demand a recount!
gerry dee should have won. the other guys sucked
Something was rotten in Denmark. Doug Benson was voted off by the closest margin ever, then was returned to the show for a special performance the very next week, and was the only comic of this year’s performers included in the roast on the season finale. Perhaps Doug’s vote off was not correct, and it shouldn’t have happened, as he was the funniest comedian of the entire group.
