China Evacuate 1.8 million As Typhoon Wipha Strengthens

What is expected to be ‘the most powerful storm to hit China in a decade’ pounded it’s way towards the ridiculously densely populated coast of China. The typhoon, named Wipha wasn’t shy either reaching speeds of up to 165 mph.
Many expected a figure of around 200,000 people to be evacuated, which was way off the evacuated 1.8 million chinese people.
“The typhoon is very likely to develop into the worst one in recent years,” said a man at the city’s meteorological bureau.
“East China, including the commercial hub of Shanghai, is preparing for what may be the most destructive typhoon in a decade,” Xinhua reports.
