President George W. Bush has made his choice and nominates retired federal judge Michael Mukasey, this is who Bush wants to replace Alberto Gonzales who is the outgoing Attorney General. It was reported that President Bush favored Mukasey after Harry Reid the Senate Democratic Leader said that he was to block former U.S. Solicitor General Theodore Olson, who is another top nominee.
Many believe that Judge Mukasey will be the kind of person who will put the rule of law first and will show his independence from the White House. Charles Schumer the Democratic Sen. Has said that Mukasey certainly has the right potential to become a consensus nominee.
