Halo 3 Themed Xbox 360: Ugly Or Beautiful?

With the highly-anticipated, record braking game coming very soon, a Halo 3 Edition Xbox 360 has brought it’s way to the shelves. Halo 3 is set to be the best-selling game of all time and by the looks of things, after breaking the record for having more pre-orders than any other game, it could easily achieve that title.
However I personally doubt that the new Halo 3 edition Xbox 360 will be as successful as the game itself, due to the very different views everyone has been giving on the console, it is very hard to determine anything.
What do you think of the contrasting greens and oranges? Although I doubt the Halo 3 Xbox 360 will draw too many new customers thanks to the Xbox 360 faults they love to surprise us with, I do have to say that I really like the design. The camouflage green design really makes you feel exclusive and unique, which is never a bad thing.

I think it is by far the best looking xbox 360. I also think it is the best value got HDTV owners because it is a $100 cheaper than the elite and it too comes with an HDMI port…very cool.
Personally I think the Halo themed 360 is pretty ugly.The tray seems to be a bronze like color and while the green system is probably its shade to show some Halo wear and tear IMO it just doesnt look good at all.
I bought the Halo 3 faceplate from GameStop for $29.95 and it looks WAY better! Halo 3 rocks!

I personaly think it looks cool but unless you dont have a 360 or are the type of person that buys a swingset newspaper add for $12.52 just because some homless guy wrote masterchief on it then there is almost no reason to buy it.all it is is an original 360 with a cool shell.
or since they are limited you can buy all of them for a total price of $1515646516546515346863.00 and when its impossible to get one anyplace other than you, sell them for $700 a piece to retards like you that want it just because it has the word halo on it.
Orange is nice. Green is not. UGLLLLLLLLY.
Overall, i think its a good idea. But whats with the brown-green color? A brighter shade of green really would have helped.
And orange? True, you could say the Chiefs visor is ‘orangish’, but its nothing like what they have on the console.
When i first heard of the console and saw a picture of what it should look like…yeah…wtf Microsoft, wtf.
I’m sorry but that thing is FUGLY. Its like I dropped my 360 in a toilet for a week and the plastic sucked up the poo-poo water via osmosis and generated what is now the Halo 3 themed 360.

I like the design and specs of the H3 edition but I wish they made it a 120gb hdd for it instead and about those flaws billy, they did fix them but they haven’t put those fixes in all of them if any yet.

I have a ps3 already, and i have no idea what possessed me to buy a 360, probably because of GOW, and maybe PGR 4 halo 3 can suck knob.. its one of the shittiest stories to date, you westerners have nothing more to look forward to than FPS games, sure Halo :CE made a big name for itself on the original xbox because its controls were great for a console fps, but thats about it. There are other fps games out there with better graphics and story than Halo, and the 360 is a flaw itself, for something that emits such a vast amount of heat inside a concave box… wow … MS must have had some cut backs when they choose engineers to develop a housing unit for the 360 components! ” Hey guys, lets make a system with parts that heat up like a toaster over, and make the box retain 99% of the heat inside”

HaHaHa, what a clown. They’re going to sell 400′000 more 360’s than previously estimated this month alone. That’s what having great software does; it moves machines. If only Sony could realise the same thing and we’d have great games on PS3 too. Shame they just use it to pimp the BluRay format.
looks great but i’m not going to go out and sell my current 360 to buy this halo 3 themed one. A great buy if your a die hard halo fan though.

It didn’t take balls to announce a 3 year warranty. They had to do something. The failure rate is high and it was getting to the point where is was tarnishing the 360 name. Sony with their laptops, which had a far less failure rate than the 360, 4 times as less, issued a recall. They took them back from people and stores and sent out ones that work. They fixed the problem.
Microsoft will not issue a recall and the current systems in stores are still prone to failure, yes the ones with the hdmi. Even though they added a heat sink they are still prone to failure at a high rate but not as bad the original design. The problem will probably not go away until the 65nm chips show up in the 360. The 3 year warranty is a band aid over a gun shot wound.
Also the 3 year warranty only covers RROD. The 360 has other problems as well such as scratching discs. The 360 is bad hardware with good software.
M$ thinks we are all fools. It is just like buying a Coach special edition Lexus with genuine vinyl seats and nice embossed Coach logos. Now that is a special edition for you.

I just bought one this afternoon, and it looks gorgeous.
Im not even a diehard HALO fan, but I like it. The system is near top of the line, the only difference with the Elite being the smaller Hard Drive (Most ppl don’t need 160 gb), and a lack of HDMI cable, which can be had for mere dollars at Radio Shack.
Overall, the box itself is beautiful, and I checked, it does have the NEW HEATSINK (I looked carefully through the bottom cover), and It looks fine in my living room.
Before you guys start talking crap, go check it out for real, and then start reviewing.

YEah I have seen one and held one a while back. I have also seen the Simpsons one. I like the Simpsons one better. I just don’t like the color of the green 360 because it’s more of a matte color. That’s just personal opinion. I like the black matte color of the Elite though.
The new heatsink helps but doesn’t cure RROD. Still can overheat.
I completely agree that pictures truely dont do justice to Halo 3 edition 360 console, but it is definitely the nicest looking 360. I really like the fact that MS used elements of Maste Chief’s gear and applyied them on design of this limited edition console - in a way draws you in more into the game and makes you feel more included into the game since you operate on the console that appears like piece of exuipment straight from the “Halo world”. the camouflage green and orange may not sound like great ideal at first, but when you look at the actual console it looks amazing. especially green color to it adds more “Halo militant action” kinda vibe. i’ll tell you MS did really good job thinking this design through, although i really wish installed the 65nm chips. still i say: EXCELENT WORK MS!!!!

All I have to say is that this is pretty ugly, and Yes 360’s have a lot of problems and NO they are not all fixed.
So this will down people from buying them.
Me personally Had my Premium 360 system for a month and then it died… I still Have not sent it in (from last december) because there is no real reason to.
Instead I’m sending it in soon, then selling it to my friend and buying a ps3. With the simple reason being ps3’s are more entertaining (WHICH IS WHAT THESE ARE MADE FOR) So shut up about PS fans and MS fans it’s all useless garbage.
It’s simply titles vs titles and system reliability. Honestly 360 doesn’t have much going for it. Ps3 is just starting…. 360 has been out a year. They are even and ps3 just came out….
So in otherwards ms sold more, wow who cares. What is more bang for your buck is what should buy. Think for a second. Wow a shitty corp in china sells 300 plastic rings a day. Jewlery store sells only 2 diamond rings a day. I’M GOING TO BUY THE PLASTIC ONE OMGz!!!!!!
