If you were a fan of Spike Lee’s The 25th Hour then you may be happy at this piece of information. Castle Rock have bought a pitch for a movie which sounds like The 25th Hour, only with a longer timeframe.
Seventy-Two Days by J. Mills Goodloe, follows the story of a Wall Street trader who’s convicted of insider trading and sentenced to a minimum-security prison in 72 days time.
With his life in ruins and freedom about to be taken, he finds himself falling in love for the very first time. That is the only plot summary we have at the moment and going on that it doesn’t sound too good.
Castle Rock aren’t stupid, they’ve backed talent such as Frank Darabont, Christopher Guest and Rob Reiner in the past so they’ve got an eye for talent.
More on Seventy-Two Days when we get it.
