Toasting Jewish New Year: Madonna, Guy Ritchie, Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, Rosie O’Donnell

Pop star Madonna might not be Jewish, but she has toasted the Jewish New Year with Israeli President Shimon Peres.

Local newspapers have reported that Peres, Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie met at Peres official Jerusalem residence on Saturday night, they then exchanged gifts with Madonna presenting Peres with a volume of The Book of Splendour and herself receiving a lavishly-bound copy of the Old Testament.

Madonna was not the only celebrity to arrive in Israel for the Jewish New Year, others included fashion designer Donna Karan, ex-talk show host Rosie O’Donnell, actor Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore.

Apparently Madonna is seen as an ambassador for Judaism by many celebrities.

Sadly not everyone loves what Madonna is doing around the world, as she has been criticized by Orthodox Jews and Muslim terrorists as an abomination and with some even claiming they will cut of her head (read more on that here).
