Halo 3

So we all know that Halo 3 is imminent, and its hype is at its peak; and obviously there’s bound to be a lot of opinions on the topic. Let’s see what we’ve found.

I personally can’t care less about Halo 3. I mean, the first game was good and it really sold the Xbox Console, the second just felt really shallow and the only appetising thing was the multi-player; fair enough. Halo 3 appears just to promise the same thing again; the story will be generic, the game-play will be generic and shallow as always, and frankly from what I’ve played of the multi-player, it’s just Halo 3; but it looks a bit shinier.

Well that’s just my opinion, now let’s look at some others;

David Jaffe and Adam Orth who worked on Full Metal lack and Calling all Cars had this nice little conversation on IM where Orth clearly said “F*** Halo”. Quite a clear opinion right.  You can read the full conversation here.

Marissa Chabon from Cinemablend.com says “No one actually hates Halo; you can’t hate Halo and call yourself a gamer… But what else will they give us other than shooting and running and throwing grenades?

And to be quite frank, she’s right. Halo 3 can’t offer us anything else other than what she’s just mentioned.

Well what’s your view on Halo 3? Will it live up to all its hype?

My comment linking this website to Sony was removed. Further proof this website is an extenion of Sony public relations.

“Halo 1, revolutionary for its time”

Haha, I love when Halo fanboys call either of the Halo games revolutionary.

Halo was nothing special for the FPS genre when it came out for anyone who had been playing FPS games prior to it’s release.

Is it one of the best console FPS released? Yeah, it is.

Is it one of the best FPS released? No, it isn’t.

I just assumed in the context of the article that PC games were not part of the discussion. But yes, the Halo was a great console FPS.

And regardless of whether a console or PC gamer (or both), you can’t deny the success of the series. If the game really sucked, I doubt halo 2 would have sold 8 million copies plus…another 6+ million for Halo 1. A lot of people really enjoy halo. Whatever your opinion is, it certainly must do something right.

dude this article is so one sided, i mean seriously, halo did make FPS games what they are today ESPECIALLY the recharging shields, almost every game out there uses that feature now and whered they get it? Halo. Halo 3 campaign outa be off the hook, but multiplayer is gonna be sick, 4 playa co-op, forge IN game, and good old slayer. For you idiots out there that think halo is lame cuz it only supports 16 players is a retard, the size of the map makes 16 players perfect balance. And i saw a review earlier that halo is a rip off of metroid, LOL omg man jeez, the designer of Metroid prime took the idea of making metroid an fps FROM Halo: Combat Evolved. Post with straight up facts, or dont post at all.
P.S. sadly i dont own a 360 yet and my Live membership just ended so i cant list gamertag…..
    =*(

I dont know many fps’s better than halo 2, and halo 3 is gonna be halo:CE and halo 2 together + more so i dont see how people can say its just gonna be another run of the mill fps. Halo 2 was a big step up form halo:CE. The campaign was lacking but other than that it was a great game. Now halo 3. 4 player campaign co-op over xbox live. The final part to the chiefs story. Lots of new vehicles, weapons, gametypes + EQUIPMENT! which will totally change the way the game is played. Better graphics. Better gameplay balance for online. Forge map editor. Customizable armour for multiplayer. The skulls in halo 3 can be unlocked now. Not like in halo 2 where u shut off ur console and they were gone, in H3 once they are unlocked they can be turned off and on whenever you want. Even more destructible objects in the levels. You can take down dropships, scarabs, and even blow up those hovering sniper towers that the jackals use. O and people who say from what they’ve played of the game it seems the same old halo well the only halo 3 you could have played was the beta unless you work at bungie or were one of the few game review journalists or someone who got to play the finished game, and the beta was only an insy winsy itsy bitsy tiny fraction of the overall game so its not even close to fair to compare the beta to what the final game is going to be. And to all you halo haters out there we know your faking, no one can hate halo, everyone at the least likes the game. And to ppl who truly believe that halo 3 will suck….well tell that to the 1.5million or so ppl who have already pre ordered the game. And then you tell all the millions of ppl who are going to buy it the first week or so its out that halo 3 sucks…see what they have to say about it. :^)

I agree. It irks me when people so blatantly bash halo. Regardless of whether you are a rabid fanboy or equally crazy halo hater, you can’t deny that the game is good. People have bee saying it for years, but Halo has tight gameplay, solid controls, and just plain works.

And as others have mentioned, halo 3 add so many new things (forge, 4 player online co-op, saved films) that it looks to be an amazing FPS. Is it the best FPS out there? I think so. Regardless, whoever you are, you can’t deny the game is solid. I’ve got 15.5 million people to back me up (halo 1 sales + halo 2 sales + halo 3 preorders).
