Part of the M62 Motorway (Merseyside, Britain) has been closed off due to a suspicious package found on a coach.
Early on in this morning, the British Police shut both carriageways off for both safety and for access of an emergency bomb squad. The coach which was due eastbound was evacuated safely for the bomb squad to arrive.
A police spokeswoman said: “We were called following a disturbance on a coach and the discovery of a suspicious package. A specialist police unit has been drafted in and examinations are taking place on the coach.”
After the area around the coach was cornened off another spokeswoman for National Express, the coach operator claimed: “There was a security incident and the police were called.”
Manchester United fans who are travelling to Liverpool for the match against Everton are being warned to take alternative routes. It is not known yet how long the motorway will remain closed, and as of yet, no further statements have been made regarding the matter.
Is today’s society really becoming targeted by Terrorists? Or do you think, that incidents such as these are only heightened to increase public awareness and wariness?
