Alan Greenspan Criticizes George Bush and Republicans For Putting Politics Before Economics
By: Daniel Chubb | September 15, 2007 | Leave a CommentIn his memoirs the former Federal Reserve Chairman, Alan Greenspan, has severely criticizes the Republican leaders and President George Bush for placing politics beofore economics in the running of the country.
Greenspan said: “Little value was placed on rigorous economic policy debate or the weighing of long-term consequences.”
Apparently, Alan Greenspan also said the Republicans “deserved” to lose control of Congress in last year’s election to the Democrats. He said in their willingness to approve spending measures that would benefit Republicans was costing of fiscal prudence. In other words, the Bush administration “swapped principle for power,” he said.
Is Greenspan right is what he is saying?
If so, Why didn’t he do something about it when he was in charge of the Fed?
Oh wait….then he might not have been able to sell as many copies of his memoirs…..
