Yahoo MapMixer hybrid maps and Shop by Color two new freestyle designs

The recent freestyle design competitions have made way for two great new designs that will make it onto the web. These competitions are held in the hope of generating employee innovation, looks like Yahoo has achieved just that. Two of the designs that stand out against the rest are MapMixer and Shop by Color.

So firstly we have Yahoo MapMixer, this new web service allows users use millions of maps that appear on the net and then overlay them onto Yahoo maps, what this does is allow users to create hybrid maps which will work independently from the underlying structure or format of different maps.

The other winner in the Yahoo freestyle design competitions was Shop by Color; this is very simple in the way that it allows shoppers to search for a product by the color of the item. So if you were looking for items such as shoes or pants then you will have a choice of 56 different color hues to choose from.
