The FIA World Motor Sport Council have reached a decision that I feel is the wrong one; they have disqualified McLaren from the 2007 constructors championship they will also lose all of their points and have been fined $100 million.

However McLaren drivers Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso are still allowed to keep their points and fight for the F1 driver’s crown. This means that Ferrari has all but won the Constructors Championship.

McLaren will have to submit their 2008 car to the FIA before they are allowed to start the season for a full examination.

Once I know more I will keep you informed.
I as a McLaren fan am not happy with this outcome and feel that Ferrari as always takes losing badly which is why they took this matter to court.

No, you as a McLaren fan are dumb. It’s called Industrial Espionage and if you think the courts are done with McLaren, wait until further evidence is released by Ferrari. You think the courts care that Ferrari was losing? At least now we know why they were losing. Cheating is the only way McLaren could ever win.

Mclaren cheated and they deserves this they should’ve been punished last time if they would have escaped penalty that would encourage not only other teams in Formula 1 but in other sports to cheat.

There is no question that Mclaren is guilty and here me and my friends will always believe Lewis Hamilton the rookie to won Formula 1 title for cheating.

At the beganing of the season Mclaren was too slow than Ferrari but as they got the information suddenly they were faster than Ferrari.

I just find it hard to believe that two companies like McLaren and Mercedes would ever be so stupid as to spy on anybody. What i do not understand is how the FIA always seems to side with Ferrari, a while ago Ferrari went after Toyota but because Toyota was not leading the World Constuctors Championship the FIA did nothing, funny that.

Fact: McLaren stole Ferrari’s industrial secrets and used them to gain unfair advantage.
Fact: This was widely known within McLaren and discussed by its drivers (who knew that a crime had been committed).
Fact: McLaren only destroyed the documents once they heard that police was investigating (after the Indy race in July).
Fact: The punishment of McLaren was fair and commensurate to the unprecedented severity of the crime.

Remember when Honda was found using an extra tank? They were banned from three races.

McLaren should be banned from racing for the rest of the season. It is a farce that the main, knowing beneficiaries of the crime, McLaren drivers, go unpunished. Honda’s drivers did not know about the extra tank. McLaren drivers knew of the industrial espionage.
