Russia now has world’s most powerful non-nuclear bomb and has tested and shown this by releasing pictures of the “Father of All Bombs”.
When the bomb is exploded it creates a nuclear bomb-like mushroom cloud and a massive shockwave, but this bomb is not a nuke.
It’s funny that they want to make the world so aware of this device at a time when tensions between Russia and the West are very high, also with the US angering the Kremlin by planning the new missile defense system and nuclear weapons stationed near Russia’s borders.
When this mother-of-all-bombs explodes its blast area covers 300m and is the equivalent of 44 tonnes of regular explosives.
Deputy Chief of the Russian military’s general staff (Colonel General Alexander Rukshin) has been reported to of said, “The tests have shown that the new air-delivered ordnance is comparable to a nuclear weapon in its efficiency and capability”.

No bomb is good news, but at least this bomb does not pose an environmental threat like a nuclear weapon does (no radiation).
To add to the tension, last month President Vladimir Putin ordered regular patrol flights of strategic bombers to re-start; this is the first time since 1991 when the Soviet Union broke up.

Why does this new bomb keep getting compared
to a nuke? The smallest nuke is still about
200 times more powerful than this.
