John Rambo To Be Released On January 25th 2008

Sylvester Stallone’s John Rambo will be released on January 25th 2008, Lionsgate have announced. This is the second movie to be released in January, which is usually a quiet month for movie releases as a January release is often looked upon as the kiss of death for a movie.

Apart from Star Wars Special Edition, there have been no other films which have made over $29 million on a January opening weekend, and only five January released have gone on to make over $100 million + at the box office.

It seems that Lionsgate doesn’t have much faith in the movie, although with Paramount releasing Cloverfield in January, maybe the movie moguls know something we don’t?
