Nintendo Wii Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08
I am an avid player on the Xbox 360 and still do love the graphics there is no denying that the 360 has awesome graphics but and a big BUT the Nintendo Wii has won my heart. I went round my uncles and played on his Wii console playing the Wii Sports you know the bowling and all that with him and his kids, and oh my god I was wetting myself. I then went round my cousin’s house and played on his Nintendo Wii (Is there any escaping this games console).

Right I have made up my mind I am going to get one, yes I will and that is that. On Saturday just gone I went to the shops with my brother to see what I could get, in the end whilst deciphering what bundle to buy I decided on what one I wanted. I ended up getting the Nintendo Wii with Wii Sports and the Surfs Up game came with it, but then I saw Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 so I got that as well.

I got home connected it all up and had to get this Tiger Woods game under way, damn and I say DAMN loudly what a game it is. I have not stopped playing this game it is the best I have ever played, it is so interactive and standing in my room standing like a true golfer feeling part of the game got the juices flowing.

My Recommendations – Go and get the Wii if have not already and get the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 game because I know for a fact once you played this game you will love it.

The question is – Is Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 better on the Nintendo Wii or other consoles?

Gears of War wasn’t anywhere close to a launch game. If you believe the 360 just launched in 2006, you must have been amazed at what had to be the most games ever available at launch. So Square Enix is going to jump ship to 360, a console that is flatlining in Japan?

Check out the latest numbers on VGChartz.org and tell me Microsoft is winning… Nintendo is far outselling and outclassing the 360, as much as I like mine.

PS3? Is that even out yet? lol

    VGChartz.org numbers as of 9/11/2007:

11.42 million Wii (after less than 10 months)
    10.89 million 360 (after almost 22 months)
    4.56 million PS3 (exaggeration?!)

These numbers reflect consoles sold to consumers, while NexGenWars.com is consoles estimated to have shipped to retailers, for the most part.

The Wii is a decent system, not as great or bad as everyone says. The system has a great motion-control setup (when used correctly by the game) but its hardware is less powerful than the original Xbox and unfortunately it shows. The Virtual Console is a great success allowing gamers to download their favorite classic games but other features such as DVD playback, MP3’s, online play, etc., are sorely lacking. The kicker for right now anyway, is that there really aren’t any quality titles for the system. Zelda, Metroid, and Wii Sports….that’s it for a few months.

The Wii is great for a family or party setting, but won’t keep the hardcore gamer occupied for long. I am a hardcore PS3/360 gamer and I bought a Wii because everyone was saying how great it is. I did have some fun for a month or so. Then bowling on Wii Sports got a little too easy, every game I played I beat in 2-5hrs and immediately regretted paying $50 for it, Zelda couldn’t hold my interest for more than 1hr at a time, and Metroid (the console’s best game so far in my opinion) is just too influenced by Halo…all it did was hype me up for Halo 3 even more. So if you’re a hardcore and are into games like Bioshock, Halo, Mass Effect, Resistance, etc., etc., I would seriously wait until some more quality titles and Nintendo getting their online act together until purchasing.

If you’re not a hardcore gamer and enjoy simple pick-up and play titles designed to hold your attention for 30min to 1hr than you would probably really enjoy the Wii. It just so happens its not my cup of tea.

For all those people who say that each x360 owner has more than 6 games, and wii owners with less than 3; you got to think about it. X360 went on a year b4 the Wii (and ps3), how shameful it is that Wii overpassed x360 in less than a year. Just give them more time and let’s see.

You know what’s really funny to me. When people who obviously don’t like Nintendo comment on small bad experiences. I mean, someone said two weeks and they sold it. I doubt they even bought it, but rather are lying about it to complain. I mean, who does that? Two weeks? I’m not calling anyone an idiot, but to buy something just to bitch and groan is just idiotic. I mean two weeks! Ridicules! Two weeks? Liar, liar, pants on two weeks.

It’s sad that there are people calling themselves hardcore gamers. Back in my days, “hardcore gamers” were called something else. It goes in line with people who are hardcore tv watchers. What makes them hardcore? That they stay home all the time parked next to the tv playing shooters all the time. As for the wii lineup of games, at least you can say you lost a little weight today. Their games corresponds to every person into gaming. As for me, I can’t spend all that time anymore. I have stuff to do and the wii helps me relieve some stress. I guess that’s why it’s on and off for a reasonable amount of time. Huh? really, two weeks? Priority, priority, priority.

Have been a Nintendo fan for a ong time dating back to improting a Super Famicom and can safely say so far the Wii has been the biggest disappointement in their console releases.

The SF/SNES was the mutts nuts - game after game released.
The N64 bought on launch day what a launch line up Mario and Pilotwings, followed by a good few releases.
The Cube loved Luigi’s Mansion and Waverace again is Japanese to start with.

Now to the Wii, Wii Sports again is the mutts nuts, but how long must we wait for games to come. There are only so many minigame experiences you want to have.

Anyone saying Twilight Princess is the greatest Zelda experience is taking it a bit far. The game was a Cube game and the motion controls added very little. But that is the saddest thing to say about the Wii is that it’s one of the two best games for it (that and Resident Evil 4 - Metroid not out in UK yet!) and they both are for the Cube.

As someone has already said if you want a console as a party piece buy a Wii, if you want some more challenging gaming don’t.

I agree with Steven, what’s a hardcore gamer? I love the Wii yet I also have a 360 and my PC. The Wii is my favorite. Does that mean I’m not a “hardcore” gamer?

Anyone who says that they’re hardcore gamer is an idiot.

Games are meant to be fun and entertaining. That’s the goal.

Now if you play a game and everytime you lose you cut yourself or smash a part of your body, then you’re “hardcore”. If you just play a game drinkin’ Halo-orange dew, you’re no more hardcore than a fat housewife watchin’ tv and eating chocolate.

I think hardcore gaming nerds feel that their gaming culture is at risk.
