I love my Xbox 360 but have been converted to the Nintendo Wii

I am an avid player on the Xbox 360 and still do love the graphics there is no denying that the 360 has awesome graphics but and a big BUT the Nintendo Wii has won my heart. I went round my uncles and played on his Wii console playing the Wii Sports you know the bowling and all that with him and his kids, and oh my god I was wetting myself. I then went round my cousin’s house and played on his Nintendo Wii (Is there any escaping this games console).
Right I have made up my mind I am going to get one, yes I will and that is that. On Saturday just gone I went to the shops with my brother to see what I could get, in the end whilst deciphering what bundle to buy I decided on what one I wanted. I ended up getting the Nintendo Wii with Wii Sports and the Surfs Up game came with it, but then I saw Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 so I got that as well.
I got home connected it all up and had to get this Tiger Woods game under way, damn and I say DAMN loudly what a game it is. I have not stopped playing this game it is the best I have ever played, it is so interactive and standing in my room standing like a true golfer feeling part of the game got the juices flowing.
My Recommendations – Go and get the Wii if have not already and get the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 game because I know for a fact once you played this game you will love it.
The question is – Is Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 better on the Nintendo Wii or other consoles?

I’m in the same boat. I love my 360 and especilly Bioshock but there’s something about the Wii. I’m currently addicted to Metroid:Corruption. I didn’t really like the previous games on the Cube (and the DS one) but I love Corruption. The control scheme is top notch.
Once you get bored with the very basic dot to dot gameplay of Wii Sports & Wii Play…good luck finding anything to play on the Wii.
Why is it everyone rushes out and buys the console - plays it for two weeks - and then lets it sit for months gathering dust. Too bad the Wii doesn’t have many real games to play. But then, Alpha Moms wouldn’t know a real game if it hit them in the face.
The Wii outsells the Xbox 360 & PS3 combined. Yet the 360 games outsell the Wii & PS3 combined. If the Wii is so great, why don’t Wii owners buy any games for their console. The average Wii owner has less than 1 game (not including the pack in Wii Sports). The average 360 owner owns over 7 games. Buy the Wii at your own risk.
Wii is great i had it since launch and still play it. none gamers as i like toi call some 360 fan boys dont really give the Wii a chance like Maxwell and assume its dead basic. but thats cos they cant get to grips with the most sophisticated control scheme of any console ever. not to mension you can always use the classic/cube pad.
also lets not forget the 360 has been around a whole year longer and therefore has more sophiticated games as developers have had more time getting used to it. so with more games to choose from yes the 360 will be selling more games. also some wii owners are more casual gamers and dont pick up games as often. but dont go kidding yourself this will continue to happen….
Wii gets twice as many games made for it at the moment than the 360 and twice as many downloadable games. in the end all games will be on Wii cos thats where the money is.
Eight months have gone by since I purchased the Wii for the family, and everyone is still enjoying it. If I charged a quarter for every hour of fun players have had, I could have bought a dozen Wiis. That is, if I could find them at our local stores!
Have had my Wii since early December and it is on all the time. I think there is a lot of fear in the hardcore gaming group. Some serious Wii envy. Honestly, I think a lot of gamers feel threatened by the Wii as it opens up gaming to more people and makes it common. It’s sort of like watching your favorite band becomes mainstream. Many of the initial fans feel betrayed and think the band has sold-out, and so they move onto new bands. Hardcore gamers are feeling the push of the masses and many are getting defensive. The Wii is a fun new experience, and as someone who has played avidly for 20+ years, I find myself enjoying Wii games a lot. Now when I play games on other systems I complain that “I’m just pushing buttons.”
Metroid has been alright, I find the bosses Tedious and Tiresome (with a capital ‘T’). However, the art and the worlds of Metroid are just amazing.
Mario Party, which I rented through GameFly 3 weeks ago has been a surprise. It’s very accessible. My wife and 2 year-old have asked to play, and that hasn’t happened since Wii Sports.
I really enjoyed Zelda and thought ExciteTruck was under appreciated. Mario Strikers didn’t work for me, but I appreciate Nintendo providing quality games (and some variety in play, even if there isn’t much variety in the starring characters
Honestly, I have a list of 20 games at GameFly that I want to check out, there are many that I want to play. I’ll add Tiger 08 to the list now ;).
I’d like to see a source on Maxwell’s claim. It’s true that Wii games do not sell as well as 360, but it’s not to that degree. And they never include VC, which make up a health percentage no matter how you look at it.
It’s unfortunate that people can’t like the Wii without being drug into the “competition” debate that only the hardcore seem to care about. Regardless, The Wii is a great console that has room to improve for the future with more full 3rd part support (i.e A version of Tiger Woods that has online!)
I Thought the wii was great for like 2 weeks, then the novolty ran out, so i sold it. But i still use my xbox 360 all the time
I enjoy the Wii for about 2 weeks, but then… i turned it off for 7 months and counting… There’s a lot to play on the 360, so i can’t waste my time with the Wii.
Maxwell seems like he’s in denial. Perhaps he should apply for a position as a Sony exec.
How can you say there are no good games for the Wii? Zelda:TP is the best game I’ve played in a DECADE for ANY system. Metroid Prime 3’s controls are untouchable. I also agree that Excite Truck was highly underrated, and have also found my girlfriend (who is NOT a gamer AT ALL) asking if we can play Mario Party 8. On top of that you’ve got RE4, Smash Bros and Mario Kart coming out, ALL OF VIRTUAL CONSOLE, Heatseekers (I don’t know how that game got overlooked) and countless more coming (Guitar Hero 3, Soul Calibur 4, Spore - you get the idea). The 360’s games are also on PC, same price, better controls (since 80% of 360’s games are FPS, after all). Wake up Maxwell and cut the denial.
As for Tom and otakugamergt: if you actually tried Wii games instead of ignoring/selling it, you might find that the games are AMAZING. Try Zelda and Metroid, then you may see the light.

As well as the Wii’s are doing, it seems apparent that the Xbox 360 is pulling out ahead of the pack. Personally I believe that the Wii and the 360 should not be compared seeing how each has a different goal (simplicity vs. hardcore gaming). However, notice how the game developers leaving Sony (Rockstar, Square Enix, etc.) are not walking over to Wii but rather sprinting to 360. Thats right folks, Kingdom of Hearts is coming to the 360. I hear people whining about how the 360 came out a year before Wii and all of that but remember, the only game that MS helped out with at launch was Gears of War. Now lets take a look at Wii, can you seriously count how many games Nintendo had to foot the bill for to get the Wii running??? Mario Party, Mario Strikers, Zelda, Excite Truck, Metroid, soon to be added Brawl! I not saying the Wii is crap, its definitely not. Yes, I have played the thing and the whole motion thing is pretty cool but contraire or whatev the word is to Russell’s
button pushing complaints, you still have to push buttons for whatever game you play on the Wii no matter if its Zelda or NFS Carbon. Dont even get me started on online play.
