Hard Times For Pfizer as the Viagra Drug Maker Cuts Over 400 Jobs
By: Daniel Chubb | September 11, 2007 | Leave a CommentPfizer, which is the pharmaceutical company behind the drug Viagra is set to cut 420 jobs as it ends manufacturing operation in Kent, United Kingdom.
The pharmaceutical giant also makes other drugs besides Viagra such as Listerine mouthwash and Calpol medicines for children. However Pfizer is closing down all manufacturing at its Sandwich plant.
“It is with regret we announce our decision to end manufacturing operations in Sandwich after 53 years,” said Tony Maddaluna, vice-president of global manufacturing for Pfizer.
