Body Shop founder Dame Anita Roddick dies of brain haemorrhage
Tributes have been pouring in for Dame Anita Roddick; the founder of the Body who has died of a haemorrhage aged only 64. Roddick leaves behind husband Gordon and two daughters Sam and Justine, all were with Anita when she died in hospital in Chichester, West Sussex, England.

Anita had been complaining of headaches on Sunday so was taken to hospital.

Dame Anita Roddick was truly one of the greatest pioneers in the UK; she set up her first Body Shop in Brighton in 1976, which sold cruelty-free beauty products. Anita had strong green issues which could be seen in all of her beauty products in store.

Many companies now claim to be greener, but this is a claim that Dame Anita Roddick and the Body Shop could claim many years ago. Roddick sold the Body Shop L’Oreal the French beauty company last year, but the Body Shop still runs independently.

Our heart goes out to the family and friends of Dame Anita Roddick.
