AMD has said that they are in the process of updating their ATI Radeon HD 2400 and 2600 graphics cards, so that they will be able to support the new DirectX 10.1 Shader Model 4.1. The new chips are to be based on two cores, these are the RV620 and the RV635, and these are successors to the R610 and the R630.
Both cards will support PCI Express 2.0 and also the DisplayPort digital display interface, not only will these new graphics cards be able to support Microsoft’s new DirectX 10.1, the cores will also be 55nm and have a clock speed of 800MHz.
ATI Radeon HD 2400 and 2600 graphics cards will be ready for DirectX 10.1 Shader Model 4.1 by January 2008.
